Can somebody get me a respirator because I sure feel like I need one after this workout this morning. I don't know what is wrong but I had to keep stopping to catch my breath. I was doing Hiit 30/30. Haven't done that one in an extremely long time---but hey AfterBurn is no joke so I couldn't believe that I struggled through this workout this morning. Maybe today is just not a great day--it is TTOM but I wasn't feeling sluggish when I started my workout. Maybe my body knows something that I don't. The original plan was to do Tri-Sets lower body after Hiit but no way after how I felt:eek:.

Saturday was PUB and I did the entire workout instead of one of the premixes and my biceps are FRIED and I love it!!!!

The last two Sundays I have watched Extreme Makeover Weight Loss edition. It features just one person and their amazing weight loss journey. DH and I have been watching the show together. It lasts for 2 hours so I really wish it came on early because it is hard being up to 11. :D

This weekend was back to school shopping. I got most of the things they need and have just a few more things to grab over the next few weeks.

Well, today is my last day off and DS has a medical appointment and I need to go to SAMs club. Preparing to get my mind back to the real world.

Good morning, ladies. I'm back from vacation. I managed to get four workouts in: Cardio from Body Max2 (no blast intervals), Bootcamp, Muscle Endurance Upper Body Split, and Step Blast (sans blast). I was proud of myself for getting workouts in, but also jealous of my brother, who ran at least 70 miles... sigh.

I managed to put on a couple pounds of bloat despite the working out. Too much salt and white carbs. Plus, we were eating meat for almost every meal, and my body isn't used to that anymore. My stomach was feeling pretty yucky by Friday.

I wasn't the only one with a sour stomach. Poor Elliot must have eaten something strange outdoors and he was throwing up. We had to take him to a vet while we were up there. He's on a ground meat and white rice diet until his stomach calms down.

My mom was suffering with major back problems the whole time. She had been to a chiropractor a few times before we left, but she really couldn't relax because her pain would get terrible at night. I felt so awful for her. She's scheduling an MRI today since the chiro thinks she probably has a herniated disc. She also couldn't relax because the night before we left my grandpa got sick (again), and while we were gone he was admitted to the hospital. My mom's an RN, and she sort of handles all the family's medical stuff, so she was on the phone the whole week with various doctors and nurses, getting everything straight.

Anyway, we all felt so bad for her that it was hard to really relax. It wasn't a wasted trip or anything, DS had fun, and it was fun to act goofy with my brother and watch the Olympics, but it wasn't exactly rejuvenating. So, I've got some post-vacation blues going a bit today.

I feel like doing a workout that will just make me feel good. Something fun enough to put a smile on my face, hard enough to get a little sweat going, but not so tough that feel exhausted afterward. Not sure yet. I have a feeling it won't be a Cathe. ;)

Heartymax- I'm getting my brain back into the real world, too. I know how you feel. Hiit 30/30 is definitely NOT the feel-good workout I'll be doing today :D!

Have a great day, everyone!

Happy Monday!

Not sure about the Happy Monday, but it's Monday. :)

Yesterday spent the day cutting grass at No No's Restaurant and then ran some errands and came home and cut our own grass. The day was over with by the time we got done. DH cuts with the riding mower and I do the trimming with the weed wacker. One disadvantage of having a big yard is it takes a long time to cut the grass. That's okay because I love my country living. :D

This morning I decided to start STS again. Today was Disc 1, chest, shoulders, and biceps. Back and left leg are gradually getting better. I've been doing really good at spending more time stretching and it's helping. I need to keep it up.

Heartymax - It's kind of a downer when you pop in workouts like 30/30 and have a hard time with it when it didn't feel that difficult other times that you did it. I know that I have those days. A workout that I feel I do pretty good at can totally kick my butt another day. I love watching Exteme Makeover Weight Loss Edition. I usually tape the 2nd half of it since it's past my bed time. :) I like Chris Powell. I think he's a good trainer.

Sam - Welcome back!! Your poor mom. I hope she gets into the doc soon and gets things taken care of so she's not in such pain. Glad you managed to have some fun despite things. WTG on getting the workouts in while on vacation!! What did you end up doing for your fun, pick-me-up workout?

Hi Sue, Susan, and Laurie!

Have a great night!
Brenda

Hi Gang! Saturday was a To the Max premix followed by Pilates Lower Body. Sunday was walking around the zoo. Love those animals!:D The pedometer said I walked over 3 miles. Was not feeling well Sunday and woke up today feeling awful. Slept in extra and got ready for work. While at work the nausea came and went. I am now going to try to get on the elliptical and sweat the bug out of me and get to bed earlier. My DD was vomiting on Saturday, we must have a bug in the house...

Hearty, sorry you are having one of those days. I have them too! My DH and I watch that show too. I like that it takes them an entire year to lose the weight as well as a lot of their own hard work. In some ways it's much better than Biggest Loser.

Sam, sorry to hear about your mom and that you didn't have as much relaxation as expected. So... what workout did ya pick?;)

Hi Brenda, glad your leg is getting better. I would like to move back to teh country someday...

Have a good night ladies! Susan

Morning Ladies,

No workout for me yesterday, just to tired. This morning I did Kickstart your Metabolism by Chris Freytag. Last night was youngests first day of drivers ed! These are the times that make me feel older and older. ;)

heartymax, I think you hit the reason why you where needing that respirator with TTOM, that really does make the body function differently. ;) Hope you had a good last day off.

Sam, I'm sure that you will get the bloat off quickly, it happened to me also. Once I started back to my normal schedule, everything seemed to get back to normal. Now I'm waiting for the faire season to end, so that I can really feel normal. :D Hope your mom gets better, and that the medical situations get that way too!

Brenda, Sounds like we are all back to mowing those lawns again! :D I'm glad to see the green, but dang it was nice not having to mow. Congrats on starting another round of STS, are you doing 3 or 6 months?

Susan, There is something going around, we had a lot of people call in sick this weekend with stomach issues. Hope you are able to fight off that bug. ;)

Have a great day!

Good morning. Yesterday I ended up doing Firm Fat Blasting Cardio, which doesn't narrow things down much since about 50% of Firm videos have one of those three words in the title :p It was the kind of thing I was looking for -- short, not too tough.

This morning I did the combos from Imax 3. Wasn't in the mood for anything blast-like. I do love that workout. Lots of fun choreography.

Susan- I hope you feel better and can avoid the worst of the bug. No worse kind of bug than a stomach bug in my opinion

Laurie- I can already feel the bloat melting off. We've been eating super veggie-loaded dinners. Oh my gosh, driver's ed! DH and I keep hoping that by the time DS is old enough for that, cars will just drive themselves :D

Brenda- That whole lawn-mowing thing is one of the reasons we're content with living in the city for now. I can see heading out to the country (or at least the burbs) someday, but I do enjoy the lawn-mowing being done in less than 20 minutes ;)

My mom's got an MRI today and probably an epidural tomorrow. My grandpa is stable, just getting everything (meds, etc...) straightened out at the hospital.

Have a great day, everyone!

Hey, guys! Busy week (again). Just giving you a quick "I'm still alive" post so you don't think something happened to me. Did STS Disc 28 Chest/Back on Saturday and STS Disc 29 Plyo Legs this morning. Lots of walking at State Fair and house cleaning yesterday.

Keep up the good work everyone! Hope to be able to chat more soon.

Good Afternoon Ladies,

This morning I went with Afterburn. I'm still careful with the workouts I pick and how my leg with handle it and Afterburn doesn't aggravate things too much.

Susan - I hope you are feeling better. I'd rather have a cold than tummy issues. Hopefully you sweat that bug right out of you. :) It is nice to see the green grass again even though that does make more work for us. Drivers-Ed..... is it scarey, exciting?

Sam - Country living isn't for everyone and there is nothing wrong with that. :) Living in the city has it's advantages to being close to stores and what not. Let us know how your mom's appt went today.

Hi Sue!

Well, back to work I go.

Enjoy the rest of your day!
Brenda

Laurie - I'm going to do the 3 month rotation. After 3 months, I'll probably be ready to change it up a bit.

Today was my first day back at work. Summer went by sooo fast. I squeezed in 45 minutes on the elliptical and found time to pack my lunch before heading out.

Hi Sue! Glad you are hanging in there with your workouts. I did Plyo Legs last week and my oh my was that thrilling!!

Brenda----My hamstrings usually hurt the next day of AfterBurn. Wow----and you find it to be easy on the legs.

Susan----I have seen biggest loser a few times but I like that this show focuses on one person and takes you through their journey in one show.

Laurie
----cool that your youngest is starting drivers ed class. DH and I are already talking about how that time will be here before we know for our DS14.

Sam--Hope your mom is feeling better. How is Elliott doing??

Hi there! This morning I felt a bit better. I did pilates for 75 mn. I love how it really gets my lower half burning.

Laurie, my DD will be in drivers ed in the Fall. Not looking forward to it!

Sam, glad you enjoyed your workout. Hope your Moms test come back well. Isn't it a great feeling when the bloat is gone?;)

Hi Sue! Glad you're still aorund! Hope life slows down for you soon!:)

Hi Brenda!
Hi Hearty!

Have a great night~ Susan

Good Morning Ladies!!

Heartymax - Was it hard to go back to work? I know even if I take a couple days off of work, I have a hard time going back. :) Afterburn is not easy on my legs in general by any means, I think with the low impact it feels gentler on my hip flexor. I'm keeping up with the extra stretching and things are coming along nicely.. :)

Susan - Glad that you were feeling better this morning.

This morning was MS1 - Disc 2 back and triceps.

I'm on vacation the next two days... YEAH!!!! :D

Hi Sue, Sam, Laurie!!

Have great afternoon!
Brenda

Brenda-----Yep! It is hard going back to work in some ways. However, I do continue to get up early during the 5 weeks off so I don't get out of routine too much. It is nice that I get to go back and get in the flow of things before my kids have to start getting ready for school and we are all rushing out of the house like madness in the mornings:eek:.

This morning was 40 minutes on the elliptical. Wanted to do some planks but there was no time for that. Every minute counts and I had to pack my lunch. :D

Hello! Today was Cross Fire :D . I also did some pilates for buns and thighs.

Brenda, Iam jealous of your time off! I have to wait til the end of the month for my days! Any big plans?

Hearty, I too prefer to get my workout done early in the morning. I have been making my lunches at night which is making my mornings easier too.;)

Hi Laurie!
Hi Sam!
Hi Sue!

See you tomorrow! Susan

Good Morning!!

Even though I'm off work, I still got up at 3am for my workout. It's that stay on your routine thing. :) I was brave this morning and did Cross Fire. It felt harder than the last time I did it. Leg held up well. Did extra stretching at the end and will do more during the day. My DH thinks I'm nuts for still getting up at my normal time on my day off. I'm such a routine person so I always prefer to stay as close to my normal schedule as possible.

Heartymax - As you can tell, I'm the same way and prefer not to get out of my routine. :)

Susan - No real big plans while I'm off. Mainly trying to get things done around the house. Today is cleaning day and then we'll see what other project I decide to tackle. Projects seem to be never ending. Today is my dad's 80th birthday and all us kids are going over by my parents tonight for dinner and I'm making coleslaw. I have to go grocery shopping for some of the ingredients I don't have. I've never made it before so hopefully it'll turn out good. :)

Hi Sue!
Hi Sam!
Hi Laurie!

Make it a great day!!
Brenda

Hi there! This morning was Pilates on the Ball. This starts out kind of slow and then after a bit you're really feeling it!:)

Brenda, 3am! I too like to stay on schedule but I think I would have slept until at least 4 if I was you!;) Happy Birthday to your Dad! Hope you enjoy the time with your family...

My work is having its annual employee appreciation picnic(pig out) today. I saw the menu and was happy to see grilled chicken breasts, turkey burgers and fresh veggies were on the list (as well as all the standard grub). At least I won't have to go off my diet. I am taking my cottage cheese and greek yogurt with me though... I am down 6 pounds so far...

Have a great day ladies. We are getting some much needed rain here, hopefully it will stop a little for the picnic...

Stay strong! Susan

Morning Ladies,

Sorry to be MIA yesterday, but I was in a mood. Such a mood that I didn't workout. This morning I did 10lb Slimdown Xtreme Upper Body, Recovery Upper Body and Skott Interval Level 2.

Sam, Glad to hear that your Mom and Grandpa are doing better, and getting the relief that they both need. LOL about the Firm titles.

Sue, WTG on those STS workouts, glad to see that you are still going strong on those.

Brenda, I have a hard time doing the stay on your routine when I know I have the day off, good job getting up that early. ;) Looks like you are going to have some rain, so having to be in the house cleaning is probably better than when the sun is bright! ;)

heartymax, I am always surprised at how fast things come up with these kids. Can't believe that you are back at work, and school will be starting soon.

Susan, Congrats on the weight loss! We are having a celebration lunch next week, and they have to have healthy choices. Part of our Health Ahead mandate. Some of the food they serve is horrible though. :p Hope the rain does let up a little, so that the picnic can go forward.

Have a great day!

Happy Friday!!

This morning was Meso1 Disc 3 for legs. After all the weight portion of it how she has the extra toning exercises at the end. I did the first one and with the position of my leg put strain on that strained hip flexor so I opted out of that I did the extended stretch instead, which felt great.

Majority of my family made it out for dinner last night for my dad's b-day. My mom hadn't said anything to him about this so he had no clue we were all coming over. We started out the surprise with having a neighbor friend stop over and joined us. I loved the surprised look on my dad's face. Then it was even better when my sister and her family from Mukwonago got there, my BIL took Brock (the first great grandson in the family who is 2) down in the basement to wish my dad a happy birthday. My dad got all teary eyed. Then he finally made is way up stairs to find us all there. He got all emotional. Before we ate he sat down and went through his cards and I saved my stuff for last. I had a t-shirt made up on the top of it it said "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree" and then below that was a tree with apples on it and each apple had one of our names on it. I grouped it by families. OMG.... when he opened up that shirt he cried. He absolutely loved it. His health hasn't been the greatest the past couple of years and he's so thankful that he made to see 80. It was a very nice night. :)

Susan - I had thought about sleeping in at least until 4 but unfortunately I usually end up waking up before 3 so I figured I should get up like normal and do my thing. :) Enjoy your company outing.

Laurie - We did get some much needed rain yesterday. It rained majority of the day. It was a good day to stay inside and get my cleaning done. If its sunny out, I have a hard time staying inside and doing housework. :)

Today my mom is taking me shopping for my b-day gift. You all might think I'm a little weird but we do our shopping trip at GoodWill. She get a 25% coupon in the mail for her b-day so we use that. I can't tell you how many times we done this shopping trip and I had a bunch of clothes for under $40. I'm not one to spend a ton of money on clothes. I find some really nice clothes in excellent shape at GoodWill. There are times I even find stuff that still has the tag on it. That's my fun for this morning. Not sure what else I'll decide to tackle today. We'll see what I feel like doing. Time is on my side. :D

Hi Sam!
Hi Sue!
Hi Heartymax!

Make it a great day!!
Brenda

Hi gang! Today was CTX Kickbox(cardio) and Pilates Buns & Thighs

DH decided we're heading to the cabin for the weekend when I get off work today. It'll be nice to get away, even though I have a ton of stuff I could get done here... It'll keep!:)

Brenda, you are talking to a fellow thrifter here! One of my DD's favorite things to do is go "thrifting" with me and we hit everyone we know of. She even asked me if we were going to the one up north!:D Have fun with your Mom and I am so happy your Dad had a wonderful day!

Laurie, It actually stopped raining for a while yesterday so we could enjoy the picnic a bit. Food was good, loved the fresh fruit platter!:)

Have a great day and weekend ladies! Take care~ Susan

Morning Ladies,

Decided to change things up a bit with some Jillian Michaels workouts. I did Ripped in 30 Week 1, and 6 Week Six Pack Level 1 this morning. This cold weather came through, and now my sinuses are acting up, and my eyes are all watery. :( I'm sure that I shouldn't complain, because the cooler weather sure is a relief.

Brenda, Happy Birthday! What a very nice gift that you gave your dad. Will have to keep that one in mind for my parents. ;) Have a great time at Goodwill, I have found some great buys there. :D

Susan, Glad to hear that the picnic went forward, and that the rain let up a bit. Sure was a bit nippy yesterday afternoon though. Have a wonderful time at the cabin, it will be nice just to get away.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Good Morning!!

This morning I went with Cardio Fusion. I skipped the last two blasts from Drill Max because my left leg and glute starting acting up a little too much. I figured I'd better stop earlier and get some good stretching in.

Yesterday morning had fun shopping with my mom. I got 10 tops. Didn't have any luck with pants or shorts though. Got some pretty nice stuff. :)

Susan - that's nice to hear that there are more people like me out there. I tell that to some people and they give me a weird somewhat disgusted look like "you shop at GoodWill".

Laurie - Hopefully you sinuses will clear up. As much as I love the warm weather, the cooler temps are a nice change.

Time to finish my finish my breakfast and get out the door and get my grocery shopping done.

Have a great weekend!!
Brenda
