Hi BB's,

Hope you all had a great weekend. I went for a 8 1/2 mile run on Sat and 18 mile tandem ride on Sun. Today I am doing GS C/T and shoulders.

Today is our 18 year anniversary. I think we will tandem tonight. I'd really like to go out to eat but DH idea of special is going out on the tandem. At least I am with him.

Did you guys do anything fun for Father's Day?

Laurie, did you get your run in on Fri? What did you do the rest of the weekend.

Susan, did you ever find out how many miles you logged on your Eliptical?

Sue, is this the week you are gone? Like you are going to answer if you are.

Enjoy

Morning BB's,

Todays workout Upper Plus and Abs/Core Plus. Saturday Kenpo Plus and Sunday a 2m run with Cami.

The Botanical Gardens have really changed since we had our wedding pictures taken there is '88. It is so much prettier. I found a yellow peonie that I just would love to have in my yard. Will be looking on line at some point to try and find someone that sells them. I have never seen anyone selling them here in this area.

Karen, Happy Anniversary to you. Ours is 20 this year, and that really is kind of scarry. :D Sounds like the tandem rides are getting to be fun thing to do. Yep I did manage to get my 7m run in on Friday. My legs where pretty tired though. :(

Our Father's Day was spent at the faire for rehearsal. As soon as that was over with we headed to his parents for cake. Just exhausted when we got home, and I was asleep by 10:30.

Is this the Atlanta trip for Sue, I think you are right that she is trainging.

Susan, Hope the leg workouts are progressing for you.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Hi there! Sorry I have been absent!

My DH called from work Thursday and said "Pack up we're going to the cabin,NOW". He was having a bad day so I quickly got us all together and off we went. We missed the storms that blew through our area but thankfully there was no damage and no water when we got home!
Karen, when we entered Mikana I said to the DH, "Wish I knew Karen's last name". DH said,"Call her up". I said,"That's why I need her last name!". LOL! I told him next time he needs to give me more notice so I can plan things!
It was a nice quiet weekend. Our DS caught 7 of the 10 fish we had. He was mighty proud! I took Ruby for about an hour walk every morning which was nice.
Happy Anniversary Karen! We celebrated our 17th on Sunday(15th).

This week starts Summer School courses and rec sports so every morning from 8-12 I am running someone over here and someone over there! DD is taking a Power Point class that she seems thrilled with. DS is involved in golf, basketball and baseball and they both have swimming. The Summer School is only about a month so I can muddle through for that long.

Today's workout will be the elliptical for 45mn followed pilates for buns/thighs. Yesterday I did 350 lunges in various forms! It seems to be working! Oh, yes, I did finally figure out how to see the mileage on the elliptical and I have almost 1,000 miles on it. :)

See ya later! Susan

Hi BB's,

The tandem ride didn't happen last night. We were both tired from staying up late the night before. My parents sent us some money so we went out to eat to Adventures and had a log jam(mozzerlla sticks rolled in wonton wrappers) and I had wild rice meatloaf and DH had steak.

Today I will spin and do legs.

Laurie, sounds like the Botanical Gardens were pretty. We go when we visit my brother in Waukesha sometimes. Have you been able to hunt down your yellow peonie yet? Cami is becoming quite the runner.

Susan, busy as usual. I wish I would have known you were coming up here. It would be great to meet you. When you are here, you are only a few min. from me. My last name is Kay. Glad DS caught some fish. It sure is fun when the fish are biting. Happy Anniversary to you and funny about DH saying call when you don't have the last name. Your kids are involved in a lot of fun stuff this summer. Glad you are seeing results in your freesyle. That is a lot of miles on one piece of equiptment. Great job.

Have a great day.

Karen, we went to Adventures Saturday night for our Anniversary! LOL! We also had the log jam (yummy) and I had the Elk steak sandwich. It was really good. DH had steak as well. Small world....

Morning BB's,

Todays workout will be a 5m Tempo Run and Abs/Core Plus. This will be finished after I get home from the dentist. Yes today the girls and I are off to the dentist. x( Just for a cleaning, but I just don't enjoy going. :D

I interviewed out new critter sitter yesterday, and she seems to be a very nice person. Very opinionated though. She didn't like the Science Diet food that I have been feeding Cami. She said something about bison/chicken/beef. So apparently Cami is going to be trying some different foods. Just as long as I don't have to do any prep work, and I'm just scooping food into her dish. :7 :7 This is a dog after all. :D

Susan, Congrats on your Anniversary also. Glad the fishing was good. Funny that you and Karen where so close, and didn't even know it. Now this Adventures sounds like an interesting place to eat. WOW! 350 walking lunges WTG! Your summer sounds like a busy one with all the things your kids are doing. I have been trying to get my youngest one interested in golf. I think that she would be really good at it.

Karen, The wild rice meatloaf sounds interesting, and of course you just can't pass up thos log jammers. :9 I have had those before, but of course they where not referred to as a log jam. :7 :7 I have found a site that has yellow peonies, now I'm looking at ordering other things from them. We have some rocks that I want to have some type of ground cover for. Right now weeds are growing up like crazy. I have to pick out a good sunny spot for the peonies also. :D

Have a great day!

Laurie

Morning ladies!

Well, my dear DS gave me his cold and now I have a bad sore throat and cold etc.. Not a happy camper over here! I hate being sick! I did manage to walk Ruby this morning but it was more like she walked me! LOL! I had Bootcamp scheduled to do today. I am trying to muster up the energy to do it! I just want to go take a nap!:-( Will need to squeeze in my lunges today though....

Laurie, my DD11 is not too athletic but she does do really well at golf. It's something her and her dad can do together which is nice.We went shopping for her new swimsuit yesterday. She just loves it and keeps coming up and hugging me for buying it. We found it at the Limited Too. They had a great sale going on, unfortunately this particular suit was not on the sale rack! Oh well,it's worth it.

Have a great day! Susan

Morning BB's,

I didn't get that workout in yesterday, so today was the 5m Tempo Run. Will do the Abs/Core Plus when I get home.

All three of us will have to have dental work done, just glad that DH and I have insurance. I have to have a crown, but I new that before I even went into the office. I have a cracked tooth, that has been bothering me. So a couple of appointments, and my mouth should be good. DD11 had a couple of cavities, and oldest has some issues with the to much acid. Well the dentist told her that she can't drink pop anymore. I found that interesting, because I really don't let the girls drink it that much. She has inherited my soft teeth I'm guessing. x(

Susan, Sorry to hear that you are feeling under the weather. Take a nap, because your body probably needs the rest. Bootcamp will be there for you to do when you are feeling better. :D Maybe I should have my DH and DD11 get into golf. That would be a fun thing for them to do together. They are like two peas in a pod, both with an easy going personality. :D So nice that your DD found a swimsuit that she likes, and you are right the price is worth that hug you got. :D

Karen, How is your day going today? Will you be getting in a CC workout today? :)

I played VB last night, and we won 2 of 3 games. So not to bad. We almost won the last game, but the other team finally learned to get the ball over the net. :7 :7

Have a great day!

Laurie

Hi girls,

Today I did SloMo bi/tri and chest and B&G abs on the ball. Tonight I will go for a ride with DH on the tandem 25 miles on some hilly roads.

Susan, sorry you are not feeling well. I agree with Laurie, rest, you will probably get better quicker. Neat your DD was so appreciative of the swimsuit. It doesn't happen that kids are very thankful for all parents do sometimes. Golf sounds like a good thing to get everyone into. Do you golf?

Laurie, I always thought Science Diet was a good kind of food. Glad you have insurance for the dental work. It can get expensive. Neat you won more than you lost last night. Another nice evening for Volleyball. The dentist always asks if my kids drink a lot of soda too but they really don't. Maybe cutting it out totally will stop all these cavities. How are tempo runs suppose to work? Can't ever seem to figure it out.

Have a great all. Have to get DD to Culvers, DS to the chiro and the younger kids to the library for turn in their reading logs.

Hello from Atlanta!

Yes, you guys guessed right. I'm away at training. Been a busy, busy week and I don't have internet access except for a couple of pcs at my hotel which are always being used! x( Except now - I managed to come by when no one else was around. :D

I'm logging some miles on the treadmill at the hotel here so I can catch up to Laurie and Karen. ;) Tomorrow night maybe I'll do the elliptical for a change of pace so I can keep up with Susan. ;-)

Saw my SIL, BIL and nephew last night and we went out to eat at Olive Garden. This is the SIL who is still being treated for breast cancer and she looks FANTASTIC! :7 :7 :7 Her body responded very well to the chemo and now they're doing radiation. I asked if they were just being super cautious since they didn't find any remaining cancer when she had her surgery but she said it was a package deal that if you had the lumpectomy you had to have radiation. Anyway, she's looking and feeling good so now I can go back and tell DH how great his sis is doing. Hopefully he'll get down here in July to visit (I'll stay behind).

Have I missed any Cathe announcements?

Keep up with your great workouts!!

Sue

Morning BB's,

Today I did a 2m run with Cami (who wasn't a very good runner this morning), and Abs/Core Plus. Will try to get in Upper Plus tonight. Cami was being a sniffer this morning. :D Wonder if the cooler weather makes all the smells that much better! :7 :7

Well DD15 has a boyfriend. Told her she still can't date, but I don't have a problem with them talking on the phone. She is to busy this summer anyway. She asked well what if he asks me to the Homecoming Dance. I'm like that is months away yet, so lets just slow this down a little. :D

Sue, Glad your SIL is doing so well with her treatments. That will be a relief for your DH I'm sure. WTG on getting workouts in. I am unaware of any announcements yet.

Karen, How was the tandem ride yesterday. Did you pedal up those hills fast? :D I just follow what Runner's World describes for a Tempo Run. When I do a 5m run they say to warm up for 1 mile, then do a steady state run for 3 miles. The last mile is a cool down. The 3 miles are usually at a pace that is faster than your "normal" pace is. Hope that makes some sense to you. The Speedwork is like doing intervals or a cc workout. I find speedwork to be fun. :D

Susan, Bet you are running those children around. :D Hope your day is going well.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Good Morning,

Today I did GS Legs. We had a great bike ride last night. Went about 30 miles. The biggest hill in the area we went up last night. It wasn't easy but I wasn't totally fried either. That was at the beginning of the ride. He then decided to do a flat stretch interval at 25 miles per hour for a very long stretch. I tell ya, I wasn't sure I should do legs today.

Sue, glad you are getting in your workouts. You will be passing me up soon. I've decided to do some other forms of cardio and not focus so much on running. Glad your SIL is doing well. What a blessing. I am glad you could get on the computer and check in. We miss you.

Laurie, sorry about your run with Cami. She seemed to be doing so well. Wow a boyfriend. I guess everyone in growing up fast. How fast do you suppose your tempo runs are?

Hi Susan, have a great day.

Hi Ladies,

Laurie, my dog is a sniffer too, that's why we don't run together! LOL! I am dreading the day DD11 asks about "dating". I hope this boy is a good kid for your DD!

Karen, that sounds like a great bike ride! WOW! Are your legs sore at all?

Sue, I think it's great that you still manage to get your workouts in when you travel! You are very dedicated!

I am feeling a little bit better today but have an awful headache. Like an ice pick digging into my head. Unfortunately DD11 has also caught this bug. She has had sinus headaches for about a month and is on her 2nd round of anti-biotic trying to kill the infection but so far it's not working. She's crying this morning her head hurts so much!:-( They said if this round of meds doesn't work they'll do a CT scan of her sinuses. I have to mow the lawn after lunch, run errands, wash my van inside and out and hopefully get in more exercise! Yesterday I ran downstairs and did another round of 350 lunges(front, rear, side, plie squats). Today I might try to go for 400!
Plus my ABS need a good workout too!

Catch ya later! Susan

Good Morning,

Today I will do CC7 on spin bike and abs. DH rode his bike to work today so probably no bike ride tonight. Tomorrow and Sun I am just playing by ear and hoping for a tandem ride one of the days. The other will be a rest day.

Susan, Did you do your 400 lunges? Glad you are feeling a bit better. Sorry DD is not. Have you tried a Netti pot? They really clean out the sinuses well where nothing else can get. My friends daughter wants to lose weight and thin out her legs maybe lunges would be a good suggestion.

Laurie, did you have volleyball last night? How are the girls doing on their chores?

Sue, have a safe trip back. How many miles are you up to?

Have a great weekend all.

Morning BB's,

Today a workout will not be getting done by me. Came into work early because we are going to the Nascar Truck Race. Hope that the rain they are saying we will get holds off. Spent money on these tickets, and just don't want them to cancel. They would run it tomorrow, but we have so many things to prepare for with faire that we probably wouldn't be able to go.

Susan, Karen is right about the Netti Pot. I have heard that it works really well for the sinuses. Sorry to hear that your DD is going through all that pain. Wow 400 lunges!!!! Do you listen to music while you lunge? I'd be afraid I would lose count and do to many. :7 :7 :7 DH and I have not meet DD's friend yet, but that is one of the requirements. ;-) So far he is good with not getting to date her, time will tell. I have told here that dating this summer is out, unless she is on a group date. No one to one dating until she is close to or around 16. We will let them go to homecoming together, if they are still together by then. :D I figure if he likes her he will be willing to wait. :D

Karen, Sounds like that ride was a good one. 25 miles per hour must really make the hair fly! :7 I only have volleyball on Tuesday nights. That is about all I can handle. :D The body is getting old. :D So far the girls are doing ok, I can say that they average getting about half of what I want done. So if I make the list big, then they could possibly get half of it done. :D

Have a great day!

Laurie

HI there! Well, with the lawn mowing, the car washing, errand running, laundry cleaning, nope, I didn't squeeze in the lunges yesterday! My legs were sore yeaterday. Must have finally been havng DOMS. Today they ache but are okay. I am going to do SJ&P today and additional lunges!:p Yesterday I went to pull on some old shorts for lawn mowing. I don't remember the last time I wore them cause they fit kind of snug in the rear. Maybe a month or so ago?Anyway, yesterday, they fell off! I ran out in the livingroom to show my daughter my exitement! I just couldn't believe that they were just sliding right down!:) That made me very happy! It might be a bit tiresome to do lower body work so much but it seems to have paid off!

I don't mean to sound dumb, but what is a Netti Pot and where can I find one?

Laurie, I hope you are able to go to the race! One day my DH and I would like to get to one. I am a huge Earnhart fan and DH is a huge Jeff Gordon fan so we have a lot of fun when we watch together!

Talk later! Susan

Susan, Netti Pots are at most health stores. I used to get sinus infections a lot. It helps with allergies too. Just put warm water and sea salt, sometimes even cleansing herb drops that they sell with Echineca in it. Put tip in one side of your nostril and tip your head it goes all the way through all the passages and comes out the other side. You should be able to find it all at one place. Glad you are seeing great results. I wish that would happen for me. Time for some new clothes.

Laurie, hope the rain holds off. If you get to go have a great time. I would hate to have the money you paid go to waste because of a rainout.
