BUFF BADGERS 4/24

Morning BB's,

Today I will be resting my legs, I ran 7.5 miles yesterday. I'm really enjoying the running. I plan on doing some upper body today. Thinking of doing something in the PS Series.

DH took off for Vegas yesterday, so my morning was different. At least youngest DD woke up pretty easily this morning. Eldest DD wanted to wear flip-flops this morning, but I wouldn't let her. I just don't think they are proper foot wear at this point in the weather. :D I know mean Mom!

Have a great day!

Laurie

Good morning,

I haven't worked out yet today, and I may not. I had a really busy weekend and am still sore! Saturday was my 10-mile run, which went pretty well. It was hard, but I felt pretty good during it. I was hobbling around for a few hours after, though. My brother and I had softball practice for our co-ed team Saturday evening, then yesterday we spent most of the day reinforcing the fencing at my mom's house (her dogs figured out how to crawl under the fence when they saw rabbits). I'm achy! I'm not sure how much running to keep doing as I get closer to the race. This Saturday, I'll do the Crazylegs 8k here in Madison, then my half-marathon is May 6. Not much time left!

Laurie, great job on your run!

Have a great day,

Ellen

Ellen,

Great job on the 10 miles! I was suppose to go to softball practice this weekend also. I forgot all about it. Ooops!!! Oh well!

Laurie

Laurie & Ellen - Great job on your long runs over the weekend! I am in awe of both of you.

Laurie - DS has wanted to wear shorts the last 2 days. Just doesn't get the fact that summer is not actually here yet.

Our water heater started leaking really bad on Friday and instead of the water going down the drain it seeped under the wall and into the carpet of our family room also my workout area. I didn't notice right away and started doing Rhythmic Step Friday night. My shoes were getting squeaky and I could see water on my step. I had spilled some water from a cup on my puzzle mats and figured the water was from that at first. I dried off the step and my shoes and kept going. More water. I even changed my shoes figuring I just couldn't get the water out of the treads on the bottom. A few minutes later more water. Turns out, the carpeting under the puzzle mats was soaked and the water was seeping up through the cracks in the puzzle mats. Argh! At least I didn't slip on the step.

We're remodeling the downstairs and planned on replacing the carpeting anyway so last night we pulled up all the carpeting and pads underneath. Good thing we did because a lot more carpet got wet than I originally thought. This morning I did Cardio & Weights with a lot of echo in the room but at least it was dry. The water heater is not leaking as badly but still needs to be replaced. Does anyone by chance have a tankless water heater? We're considering getting one of these instead of the traditional kind. DH's brother has one but it's just he and his wife so not as much demand as we have with 2 kids.

Also did MIS on Saturday and 2 segments of Coremax yesterday. My abs are so sore today.

Hi to all BBS that follow.

Sue

Hi BBs!
I did a Leslie walking workout (2 faster paced miles) but just happy I wake up to do something. Dh is training for the Ultra marathon (31 miles) so is running 20 every Saturday which means he wants (and needs) to rest on Sunday. So no gym. But this will be on the 13th so not much longer.

Sue - sorry about your water heater and carpet. I don't know what kind of water heater we have but would guess it is a regular one. I wonder if you could google this and get some info.

Some interesting news last week. DH's boss told him that his dept is going to move to South Carolina in the future. Could be months or a couple of years. So when the time comes, looks like the only option to not going would be finding another job. Needless to say this news is very distracting! He can't tell anyone so he can only talk to me about it. At least I can share it with you. I wouldn't miss the sub-zero temps but it is still a huge decision and change. And his kids are here - at least now and if they stay eventually his grandkids will be here. Since these are his kids, I won't have to every think of myself as a grandmother. Right? :)

Laurie - You weren't mean. It wasn't that warm this morning.
I thought we would have heard from Jill.

Hi LAdies!

Great job on all that running Laurie and Ellen. I bow to you both!

Sue, we had our sump pump over flow in our basement last Spring and did the same thing you did by pulling up all the carpet. Thankfully it was only in one end and not in my exercise area.

Laurie, I personally can't stand flip-flops in school. I saw a few girls flopping around in them when I dropped the kids off today. How can they run at recess in those things?

I was supposed to have the day off today so I chose to sleep in a bit and workout later... Then work called me in and I didn't get to workout. I am now going to take the dog for a walk and then hopefully do some Pilates. Tomorrow my rear is out of bed early!
