Breakfast on the go

School is starting and I have a class at 8AM. So I'll have to wake up at 5AM just go get my workout in.
I'm looking for breakfast ideas (something no more then 200 cals) that I can just take w/ me and eat in class. Here's what makes it hard .. I can't have dairy or nuts and also would like to stay away from protein drinks and bars.

Thank you
Katia

What about a fruit smoothie? The following recipe can be made the night before and kept in the refrigerator and it is still good the next morning.
1/2 c. frozen strawberries(thawed)
1 banana
1/2 orange, including white part of peel
1/4 c. frozen peaches (thawed)
1/2 c. plain nonfat yogurt
1/4 c. ice cubes.

I blend all of the above in my blender until smooth. I put the ice cubes in last. I also add 1 to 2 packets of splenda to sweeten it up.
It is delicious and I try to have one a day to get my servings of fruit in.
1 serving is 1 cup

The only downside I can see is that you may not get enough protein with only a fruit smoothie in the a.m. Oops! I guess yogurt is a dairy product but maybe you could find a substitute? You could drink your fruit smoothie on your way to class or in class. Good luck!:7

You could use soy yogurt instead of milk yogurt for the fruit smoothie.

Or, take a breakfast burrito with you: Scramble an egg with 1/4 cup beans, lowfat soy cheese, and some tomato or pepper (or both) or some drained salsa (to keep the mess down). Place in a whole wheat tortilla shell and roll up, sealing the ends. You can eat this on the go. Its better with salsa on the side, but if that's too much trouble, forget about it.

Good luck with school.

Editing to say that you could also stuff the filling into a half a pita shell rather than a tortilla. And, this doesn't take long to make if you have the beans, cheese, and pepper/tomato/salsa all ready to go the night before. You will just have to clean up your dishes when you get home.
