Book Rec: The Vegetarian Mother's Cookbook

So I have to give a plug to this great cookbook even though I am not a mother. :D This was recommended to me by my sis (funny: the author is Cathe Olson, my sis called me up all excited, "I think your fitness lady has a cookbook!") I'd call the recipes vegetarian home cooking: hearty flavors, simply ingredients (for the most part) and family-friendly. So far I've made the beanballs, the squash and cabbage saute, the granola, the sunshine slaw and the tamale pie, all of which were excellent, especially the tamale pie. Also, the book talks a lot about whole foods for pregnant and breastfeeding women (that is essentially who it is for) gives the nutrient breakdown and nutrition info for every recipe and also provides vegan alternatives.

Thanks Sparrow -- this sounds like it'd make a great addition to my massive cookbook collection. I actually have very few vegetarian cookbooks. The best one I have is from the 1970's and it has a section where it talks about the best munchies to have after smoking pot -- LMAO!!

LOL! Sounds like a cookbook DH would have had, back in the day. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b39/Batgirl_1969/dry.gif
