I read this review in Library Journal for the book entitled Fat Families, Thin Families: How to Save Your Family from the Obesity Trap.

I have not read it but the except from the Library Journal review looked interesting in light of some of the most recent forum posts...

"Hendel uses a mixture of personal recollections and patient vignettes to demonstrate that these ideas are doable; readers and their families do not need to remove themselves from day to day life in order to lead a healthy lifestyle when simple meal planning will suffice"

Another one to look at if anyone is interested: (sorry Beavs I was thinking at first this thread was for more recommendations? then realized it was just for that book.)

I read this book that was an easy read that I found at a TJ Maxx and it was great basic info about fitness/nutrition. It talks about some basics on nutrition/dieting and why fad diets don't work. It also teaches about using food for fuel. It really makes you think about fitness as a healthy lifestyle than anything. It also covers overtraining and a mild form of "anorexia" that she calles female athlete triad. It answers alot of common fitness questions and assumptions. Lots of it I already know from working out but it was really good! I'd totally recommend it for someone that is interested in caring better for their all around health.

K ;) The book you posted looks really interesting too! It is a good idea to think of ways to make everyone more healthy in the home instead of just ourselves. I'm always looking for more ideas to help with that!
