Body Bar

How is a bodybar different from the bar for barbells? I was looking at them online and was wondering if I could just use my bar? I know they have different weights but is that the only difference? Thanks.
LD

I have about 5 of them ranging from 10-24 lbs. I really don't use them much. I've tried to use them w/Cathe's circuit workouts by doubling them up but it hasn't really worked b/c my hands are too small to hold two at a time.

If you have the space go for the barbell & plates. Much more versatile IMO. I think the ladies here use a Troy barbell--you can find it easily by doing a search. Once I move I plan on getting one myself.

Thanks for the quick response Laura! I want to buy a DVD that uses a body bar. Do you think I could use my bar from my barbell?
LD

I can't imagine why not. In fact I would think the barbell's better b/c you can adjust the weights as you get used to the workout--you might want to use a lighter or heavier weight than the instructor & at least you'd have the options.

Like I said, the barbell seems so much more versatile. I don't know what on earth I'll do with all my bodybars when I eventually move--they're practically brand new b/c I so rarely use them & I hate to keep stuff around when my storage space is so limited. x(

BTW, which workout is it? I wonder if it's something I could use? ;-)

I can't remember the name of the DVD but it is with Patrick Goudeau. I found it on collage. He's my new favorite instructor, besides Cathe!:) . Have you tried any of his workouts? He's so much fun!
Ok. I am going to order it now. I wasn't going to get it if I had to buy a body bar cuz DH would've killed me for getting more equipment.
Thanks Laura!
