Good morning!

Cardio Kicks and Core Max 2 DONE! Another sweaty mess!

We were up late last night. After all the ball games and stuff, we all came back to my house and my neighbor/friend and her DH came over to play cards. I got to bed at 2am, but was up by 7am to workout. All 4 boys stayed here overnight, so I have to quickly shower and make breakfast. I promised them pancakes! YUM! (noe for me, thanks)

BBL sometime!

Gayle

We are taking DD to the amusement park tonight and I am insisting on eating before we leave. Steak & grilled veggies. And I'm probably going to bring an apple at least and maybe a few walnuts. That way I'll have something to munch on while DH & DD are having iced cream.

Good Morning girls,so is this the weekend thread? I think thats a good idea!

Todays workout is a dogwalk and a run interval with some abb work! Im going to try and start being accountable with posting my meals everyday...ive been slacking in counting my cals:-( I haven't been eating bad just not good enough to make me feel good! I will probably post my meals at the end of the day since its hard for me to plan what im eating for the day:)

Melissa, how was the amusement park? Sounds fun! Great job on posting your meals!! You inspire me;-):)

hey to everybody that follows:)

Hello and Good Morning to you all,

Just checking in to see what’s up.

Gayle: Great job on Cardio kicks and abs! Sounds like you had a very enjoyable friday night. Have fun with the boys.
What is your workout for today or is it a rest day?

Amelia: I see that you had fun with Imax! Wow! You really hit it hard yesterday! Tacking on PLB too! How are your legs today?
Soooo what’s for your breakfast today? I am having protein pancakes and fruit. Of course I can’t skip my coffee! Have fun with your workout later.

Belinda: Is Debbie’s rotation still available? I just printed off an STS like rotation. Maybe I can stick to this one! I haven’t been very good lately sticking to anything.
How was your workout?

Melissa: How are your buns today? My legs finally loosened up from PLB on Weds. I am glad that you enjoyed LIC. I might hit this one today seeing as again yesterday was too busy for me to get in a workout.
Sounds like a great plan to eat before going to the amusement park. The food prices are too high anyway and not good for you! Hope that you and family had a great time!

Yesterday was a day for just about everything. Yardwork, housework and shopping. I stayed up way too late on friday night waiting to pick up DD from the trainstation at 1 in the morning. I got about 2.5 hours of sleep on the couch. ;( I ended up going back to bed around 10:30 and didn't wake up again until 1PM. I felt totally wiped out all day.

Today I woke with a bad headache....AGAIN. I hope to get in a good run later when my meds kick in. I am just not a night person and it kills me the next couple of days trying to recover.
My DD agreed that the next time she wants to hang out with the lab people she will stay in Boston with one of them. It just doesn't make sense to have to leave the dinner party early and miss the subways and then end up on the last train out. This is what happened and we were both frustrated. She doesn't get much down time with friends and I feel bad asking her to leave early. :-(

Kids are all still sleeping and I have paperwork to do. So I will catch up with you all later.
Make it a good one!

Heidi

Hello ladies -

I'm trying something new - wanting to shake things up a bit. I bought the New Rules of Lifting for Women. I read the book and did the first workout yesterday.

The book was interesting and gave me some new ideas to think about. But all and all I think we all know that it is about doing the exercises and not eating the junk. :)

Have a good weekend!
Michelle

Hi Michelle,

You are absolutely correct! They go hand in hand. :)
What are your plans for today?

I am still working on paperwork and plans for the upcoming week. There are a few interesting things going on in my neck of the woods.

DH and I will be going to a Fish Festival on weds. This day is the start of the St. Peter's Fiesta and it is a good weeks worth of activities. So I am planning out each day that I can take the kids to some of them. The most exciting...The Greasy Pole! This is were some local boys/Men dress up in costumes and try to catch the flag at the end of a highly greasy pool over the ocean. Something you just have to see. Lots of Ooooo's and Ohhhh's on this event! ;-)

Ok...I am gathering up my final information on picking some icycle programs. What are your favorite picks? I am not sure how many more freebes I will have left but I really would like to get some for when I finally get that bike!

Any thoughts would be most appreciated.:)

Melissa-how was the amusement park??? Are you a RIDE gal, like me? I find that packing even just a simple apple really keeps me on track when we’re on the go. AMAZING what being prepared can do! I hope you had a BLAST! And how was CCV4???

Belinda-any DOMS from PS Legs? What exact Debbie rotation are you following? I’ve looked at a few of hers and I’ve been tempted, but there are just SOOOOOOOOO many choices out there, aren’t there!

Heidi-I hope your head is feeling better. I have to admit that with all the running for DD and the train and stuff, I’m in a whirlwind too! LOL Enjoy the Fish Festival That greasy pole event actually sounds like something I'd like to try! lol

Michelle-enjoy that book. So what kind of exercises did you do for your first workout? Any new moves or anything interesting? I do find, as you did, that all the different programs out there are set on the same basic principles. Clean eating, good and varied workouts, and CONSISTANCY! Keep us post, ok???

As for me. Today is a well-deserved rest day. During CK yesterday, my legs were spent. And I could feel the whole previous week’s workouts getting kicked out (literally) during the kickboxing. Today, I’ve got DOMS as usual after that workout. Right across the my shoulders and upper back, my lats. And my core is a bit sore as well from Core Max. ALL GOOD!

We’ve had an awesome weekend so far. I had SO’s DS and his ex’s DS since Friday morning. I ‘unplugged’ them (which means I told them no electronics…no tv, video games of any kind, no PC, etc). We spent the past 48 hours outdoors and active. Swimming, bike, throwing ball, tag, basketball, you name it. Last night, we finished out the active days with Pirates of the Carribbean next door at my friends. Her DH brought out their projector and hooked it up and displayed the movie on the wall of their garage. It was like our own little drive in theater. SO and my friend’s DH get along really well and they’re both gadget geeks (as I affectionately call them). So they are always feeding off of each other’s ideas. Shooting a movie on the garage was actually my SO’s idea to begin with. ANYWAY……it was great.

Today, we all slept in till after 9am! WOW! I can’t tell you the last time I slept past 7! LOL I’ll take it though. My plan today is simple. Food will stay accountable (I’ve been tracking my eating with Weight Watchers points system this past week to get and STAY on track). The kids and I are going to run a few simple errands. Baseball practice for DS’ traveling team tonight, but that may get rained out since they’re calling for T-storms pretty much throughout the day.

Have an AWESOME SUNDAY!!!!

Gayle

Hi everyone!

The amusement park was AWESOME!! Yes, Gayle, I am a RIDE GAL! It's tough with an 8 year old, though. We did convince her to go on the Flume. It's a water ride and you ride in a log. There is a pretty big hill at the end so we were surprised she said "yes". She LOVED it! They snap a pic when you hit the bottom of the hill and the look on her face was priceless.

CCV4 was great. I'm looking forward to joining in on Press Play on Saturday!

We went strawberry picking this morning. It was painful. For my buns, anyway! So yes, Heidi, they are still sore. All that crouching down and getting back up was excrutiating...in a good way! }( We got a little carried away and now we have so many strawberries, I have no idea what to do with them all. They are so delicious. We've been eating them all day long! I was a little disappointed when I first saw them because I was expecting them to look like the monster strawberries at the grocery store, but they taste so much better. A few more weeks and the blueberries and raspberries should be ready.

Eating has been clean today. No cheat day for me. Today is also supposed to be a rest day, but I think I might do some UB work later. No way I can attempt any LB work so I'll save that for tomorrow.

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Melissa-we were just saying last night that the berries you pick yourself are SOOOOOOOO much yummier (and smaller) than store-bought! We went thru 5 pounds of strawberries between Friday afternoon and Saturday night! Tell me, now, what made your buns sore. I WANT BUTT DOMS TOO! :7

And speaking of CCPP next weekend, I got an email from a fellow Catheite that is using CCPP and CC V8 and making a little mish mosh for CCPP Day. When I get a chance, I'll post it here in case anybody's interested in making that playlist too!

Gayle

Hi Gayle - LIC made my buns sore. I think it was the cardio/leg sections right after each step segment. I did the last one twice because I had a hard time balancing on one foot the first time around. I very rarely get butt doms anymore, but this did the trick!!

Yes, a fellow Catheite (could be the same one?!) told me about tacking on the last challenge from V8 onto PP. I'll have to remember to make it a playlist so I'm not fumbling around at the end of the workout!

Okay, changed my mind at the last minute and decided to do LIS. That workout is just so much fun. I LOVE every combo.

Meals for today:

M#1: 1/2 whole wheat bagel toasted w/1T lf cream cheese
M#2: w/w wrap w/1 can white tuna mixed on lettuce & some chopped vidalia onion thrown in
M#3: myloplex bar (I only get one of these when I got to Target)
M#4: 3oz 93% lean beef patty w/pickles, mustard & ketchup & sweet potato fries
M#5: 1T natural pb on something, just not sure what yet.

Also, loads of strawberries all day long. I estimate about 2-3 cups worth.

Have a great night everyone!
