Article on proper spinning

Hi Everyone,

My new spinner is en route getting ready for Cycle Max! I have ridden a road bike before (for fun, not for a workout) and have ridden the bikes at the gym before (not the spinners). But have never been on a spinner before.

Are there articles on proper set-up (placement of seat height, forward/back/tilt, handlebars, etc) and on proper technique (hold your head down/up; arm placement, leg placement) etc.

When I do ride a bike outside for fun, my only issue seems to be the area between my legs get super sore (the bones and the tissue). Also, sometimes my neck hurts from looking up. I know riding a spinner will take some getting used to, but I want to know how to initially set up the bike for maximum comfort.

Anyone know of an article that explains it simply? Perhaps with some pictures?

Thanks!

Most spinning bikes come with manuals (and sometimes even a DVD) that go into those exact details.

Try the website www.spinning.com. They have plenty of information, as well.

There is a very informative spread in the October 2011 issue of Oxygen magazine on spinning including techniques, proper form, setting up your bike, understanding the "lingo", and even a sample workout!

I've never been on a spin bike either and I found the article very interesting so I thought I'd share :D
