Are there any HIIT workout DVD's?

Hi everyone,

I've been reading a lot about HIIT, and I'm curious to try it at some point in the near future. I don't have access to any equipment like treadmills, elliptical machines, etc., though, since I no longer have a gym membership, and I also really don't like running, so I was hoping I could find some DVD options.

Can anyone recommend any HIIT workout DVD's or ways of modifying Cathe's DVD's so that they are HIIT workouts?

I searched the forums and some people suggested doing IMax 2 and 3 with just the interval sections, but are those too long for true HIIT training?

TIA for any ideas you can send my way!:) I appreciate it!

These are the work outs I believe to be HIIT from what I have learned about it. Perhaps others will disagree. I don't claim to be an expert so I would love to know if I am incorrect on any of these counts.

The Barry's Boot Camp cardios.

Body Max 1 and 2 power leg drills/circuits: just skip the weight work.

The IMAXES with out the step routines and it's not too long IMO: About 20 mins is perfect as far as I know.

KickMax Bootcamp cardio portion: I am not sure if it's long enough but it can always be repeated if it's not.

That's a few off the top of my head...HTH! :)

Thanks so much, Wendy, for the great info! I'm excited because I have all of these workouts, so it'll be fun to play with them in the coming months as HIIT workouts!:)

Your welcome Leanne. I'm sure there are more. Perhaps others will recall them and post them for you!

Have fun!}(

The lastest muscle and fitness mens magazine has three HIIT workouts one is for running, the others are for an upright bike and treadmill.

i had done a thread a while ago for some of us that were doing hiit. you might want to search the forums. i got a lot of good information, especially from debbie (boybert).

like wendy said, the imax3 blast only premix ig a goodie. i think bbc could also count. personally, i like to do my hiit on the treadmill. i do a short warm-up, then 45-60 seconds at 9.9-10.0, then walk for a minute at 4.7. i repeat that until i feel like i am going to die (usually about 15 cycles). with true hiit, you should really be pushing yourself so that you can only do 20-ish minutes. if you can go a long time, you are not working hard enough during the high intensity portions.

Spinervals makes one that is called the Sprinting Machine and Women's Health makes one can't think of the exact title....Body Type Workout which has a 20 minute HIIT cardio on it. Also, the Abs Diet DVD has a solid 20 minute HIIT cardio routine on it. No equipment needed for the latter two....but Spinervals is obviously done on a bike.

Mindy Mylrea has a video called Extreme Intervals which features intervals on both the step and hi/lo aerobic intervals. It's one of my favorites.

Hi all,

Thanks so much for the wonderful ideas!!! I appreciate it so much! I'm starting a three-week 4DS rotation today, but after that I want to experiment with HIIT and heavy weights since I've been reading so much about the great results from it. I'll also be sure to search for that previous thread that Lorie started.

Thanks for all the great ideas!!:)

Hi lorajc,

Do you know if the Abs Diet DVD that has the HIIT workout is on the Vol. 1 DVD or the Vol. 2 DVD? It's not clear from their descriptions on Amazon.

Thanks!
