Any advanced excercisers try the intermediate workouts?

I would really love some new workouts and I have not tried Cathes intermediate/beginner workouts. I was thinking they might be nice for light day routines. How beginner are they? Are they simple in terms of choreography? How's the music? Does she spend time on the video teaching you the routine? I have found that, for me, this gets boring really fast.
Thanks,
Heather

Hi Heather!
I've ordered Low Impact Step + Total Body Sculpting and Basic Step + Body Fusion since getting pregnant. I think they are nice for light day routines, or days when you don't have that much time as they are shorter then an hour. I DO think that the step parts are kind of too repetitive for me to do them too much, but I don't think it is bad for doing once and a while. I enjoy Body Fusion and Total Body Sculpting the best, where the routine has weights involved -
I have to say that even though the step part gets "boring" (just repetitive), it still gets my heartrate up (though keep in mind I'm also preggo). And I like that after doing the step portions for a while it makes the other more advanced step tapes more fun..

RE: Any advanced excercisers try the intermediate worko...

Heather, thanks for asking this question. I actually just got the Low Impact Step DVD because it looked kind of fun from the preview and I needed to beef up my Cathe collection. I haven't done it yet, but was thinking maybe if I did it on a 8" step and added a little power it might be a good add on for after weights or something. Anyway, I am interested to hear others responses.

I would recommend Janis Saffell workouts. Some people also like Mindy Mylrea (sp?)...I have one of her dvds but I've not actually done the workout yet so can't comment.

Thanks for your input. I'd love to hear more opinions.Secificly on Cathe's inter/beg dvds. Anyone else? How's the music?

Karin~ I have done exactly that for LowImpact Step. I have done it on an 8" step and it really gets me going! I add power to the moves. It is a little more repetitive, as she is explaining the moves, but it helps me with my form. I don't remember about the music, but that must mean that it is probably not boring!

Hi Jenn. Wow, I am glad to hear that my theory about using LIS on an 8" step seems to be a good idea. I usually don't do any Cathe DVDs on an 8" step except for Low Max. Are the beats per minute of the songs in LIS similar to Low Max or is it faster paced? If it is faster I might fall on my butt with an 8" step! I'm going to try it out tonight after GS Legs. At least that is the plan.

Karin~ Can't remember about the beats, but I dread cardio and am not very good at getting the moves down in step in general, and I have never felt like I would fall or off balance.

So did you try it? How did it go?
Jenn
