50 & over December 1 check-in

Good morning Jann, Bev, srcasale, Gypsywind, and Carol,
I did my Pure Strength -strong legs & abs. Lot longer rest periods than Cathe had but I finally finished it. Will still try to get 30 min cardio in today.
I looked at Cathe's rotation for Dec. It seems like a lot of cardio. Even using a low step, my knees have been sore lately. Probably just do treadmill.
Jann - I have tried a pedometer and many times I am between 1500 and 2000 steps. But your correct I haven't tried it since I have Elliot. She may have me running around more. I think I'll try wearing pedometer today.

Good luck with the pedometer! I find it motivating. Take care of those knees.
 
Tuesday, December 2 check in
Jann I only did 4691 steps yesterday. That included a 2mi walking tape. Although the phone rang a couple of times so I'm sure I did not get full 2 mi.
No wo out at midnight, so I will try to get 3-4mi treadmill walk done sometime today.
I guess I will do PS back, biceps & abs tomorrow.

Yea, I stayed the same.:D I would have liked to have lost but with Thanksgiving and the weekend eating I'm glad to be the same.
I also did about half of Butts & guts floor work yesterday.

2500 steps = 1 mile. So maybe your pedometer is not counting correctly. :( I actually washed mine today. :eek: I can't believe I left it in my pocket. :eek: It's drying out now. I hope it still works. :confused:

I jumped on the treadmill for 30 minutes this morning. I am still decorating. I love decorating for Christmas. :D

The nurse told me to slow down a bit. Having some problems with bleeding. :( So walking is all I have.

Maintaining over the holidays is VERY good. :D I hope that I can!! Losing weight is a slow process. I love Butts and guts. The floor work is great. Have you ever tried the extra abs on that DVD? It is tough! :)
 
Wednesday December 3 check in
I barely finished Tuesday's 3.75 mi walk before I started Wednesday PS Back Biceps & abs. I started before midnight but I'm still counting it for Wed. I increased db to 10lbs from 8 on some of the exercises. Have never done that extra abs. Both wo this week had ab section but Fridays PS chest, shoulder & triceps doesn't so I'll try it then.
I think the steps were correct. I don't know how long I was on phone and let dvd run. I really don't move much in my everyday life. My office is 5ft from bedroom. Eight steps up to family room and another eight steps to livingroom and kitchen. I'm not crazy about shopping so other than the grocery store, there is not much walking.
Steps for Tuesday were 16,960. Besides treadmill I started a couple of walking tapes, I did a little but Leslie Sansone can be too perky. Lot more steps but I also had some running around to do. I think I need to do a lot more walking. I know on vacation if I walk at least 17,000 steps I can eat just about what I want to and not gain weight.
I usually love Christmas and have everything up by the Sunday after Thanksgiving. I just can't get in the mood to decorate. On the 17th I will have about 30 people over for a Christmas party (we have one every year)but that is still not motivating me. I wonder if it is because last year it snowed on the party day and only 4 people showed up. I usually make a ton of food, including at least 4 cheesecakes. It's funny but I don't usually eat that much while cooking or at the party, but the next day is a different story.
We will have to plan a celebration when you can lift again. Until then take it easy. I think it's great that you are walking. That whole two years I didn't work out, I had a treadmill and didn't even use it.
I can't believe it's only been 30 min. and I am starting to get sore.:(

Friday Dec 5th check in
Bev glad to hear from you.:DWe had a lot of people sign up for group and JannR was the only other one posting. I thought I had been unclear about group purpose .
I didn't get the planned wo done today so it will have to be rest day. I did print all workout cards and counted the exercises to be tested. You can see that in sts forum.
I had planned to do PS Chest, Shoulders & triceps Saturday, but now I think I will try 1rm tests.

Saturday Dec 6 check in
I did get 24 of 36 chest, shoulders and biceps 1rm testing. I need some cardio but I don't know if I will have time Sunday. Don't know if I will do FitnessFreak rotation or continue testing Monday.
