Be careful with your knee.. you don;t want to be side lined for a long period of time. I wish I could see that dress! Sounds like you have a really fun weekend planned.

Hi Deb--

Today is my cleaning day as well. I think I will take off tomorrow additionally because my knee still feels intermittently painful and the workers will be arriving early to clean up my gardens, and I don't want to be "en deshabille" when they arrive.

Here is my sweet potato pie recipe, which I usually double:

Ingredients:

1. 1 1/2 C. mashed, cooked sweet potatoes
2. 1/2 C. sugar
3. 1/2 tsp. salt
4. 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
5. 1 tsp. cinnamon
6. 1/4 tsp ground cloves
7. 2 eggs, well beaten
8. 1/2 tsp. vanilla
9. 1/4 C. butter
10. 1 C. hot milk
11. 1 unbaked 9 inch pie shell

1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees
2. Combine ingredients 1-8 in mixing bowl
3. Melt butter in milk and stir into potato mixture
4. Beat until smooth
5. Bake 10 minutes at 450 degrees. Then reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake 45 minutes or until a knife comes out clean.

My experience is that it usually does take longer than 45 min.

In my office now, but the campus is all in a hubbub over the homecoming football game against Williams' arch-enemy, Amherst. Go Ephs!! I think it's actually being shown on ESPN or something. I am not a football fan.

Once again, good luck on your dog's lab results. I can only imagine your anxiety waiting.

Good Morning:

I just wanted to check in quickly before my workout. I am going back to the 4DS, only I am going to make it fit into 3 days by mixing up the body parts a little. I like to have 3 days of just cardio /core work, and since I don;t do the cardio from this series yet, (just the warm ups), I can do this. I use the Mix & Match function on the DVD. It's nice because it gives you a little break between sets/body parts.

I'll be back in a little while!

I'm back! I did the Legs & Core workout from the 4DS series. I really like this leg workout, not too many squats or lunges! Those can kill your knees. I even like the kickbox warm up she does. I just use the "weights first" pre-mix, then skip the kickboxing part and go right to the Core work. The core work from this DVD is interesting and fun:D . No boring crunches! I will add the shoulder work to the Biceps & triceps workout, so I can do it all in 3 days instead of 4.

Yesterday we took the dogs to a local park that has a 1.8 mile path around it. I thought they would be sore & tired today but they did great! They loved all the smells and the leaves on the ground. We took pictures to use to make calendars for my DF and DH's Mom.

Todays menu:
Post workout protein shake.
B- Kashi Go Lean oatmeal w/strawberries
s: LF Yogurt
L: soup
S: stringster & triskets
D: pork steaks, but I have no idea what to have with them!
S: Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich or WW ice cream bar

Thanks for the recipe. At my grocery store, they have Yams, not sweet pototoes.. what is the difference, or is there one? Do you mash them by hand or with an electric beater? I hear you on the football.. I am not much of a sports fan at all. How nice that you have a group to come and assist on the gardens!

Where is everyone?

Have a great day!

Deb
