Good Morning to all:

Well it is Monday, the start of another week. Today was cardio, another 40 minute I-Tread, 283 calories burned.

Had fun judging at the obedience match yesterday. So many cute dogs! It makes me wish I was still training our 2. They are retired from all training and are in practice being the best in "couch potato" class!!:7

Todays Menu:
Post Workout: Protein drink with ice/water
B: Special K with strawberries and skim milk
S: cottage cheese/applesauce
L: Ham on WW, grapes, skim milk
S: apple & stringster
D: Leftover Italian from Sat night
S: WW choc ice cream bar, or Skinny Cow:9

Garance:
I agree that the step routine looks like fun. I just don;t want to spend the time rewinding over and over to get the moves downx( . Looks like the Red Sox are doing very well:D

Linny:
Good for you for being mindful of your selections at the buffet.. these can really test the deterimation

Jen, Josie, Nancy and all that follow: Hope you have a good start to the week!

Deb;-)

Good morning, Deb! Are you a judge at dog contests? That sounds fabulously fun! I couldn't agree with you more about step. I like the idea of it, but am too impatient to learn a routine. I stick to the treadmill for cardio and do Cathe for strength.

Garance, thanks so much for letting me know that this group is quite so hardcore as some of the others. I did Muscle Max this weekend and totally skipped the step-ups because they seemed too much like lunges, which I had already done. :p I also skipped the tricep dips (hate 'em) and totally modified the ab work. :p

Jen, how long have you been recuperating from your injury? How is the PT going? I hear it requires a lot of patience.

Linny, did one of your children get married? You must be so relieved to have your house and your life back to normal.

Thank you all for being so inviting. It's wonderful to know there are plenty of other 50-plusers doing Cathe!! :D

Hi Ladies and welcome Nancy,

My husband gave me a cold, but I did manage to do 5 miles on Saturday and I only did 7 dunes on Sunday. The rest of the day I just laid around. I don't think that I will be working out today.

I did get even with my DH, I kissed him all over his face and I liked his nose.

I need drugs!!

Josie

Hi Deb and Nancy--

First, I have to get this off my chest: GO RED SOX--YES! I stayed up too late last night, but I just had to watch. Now I will miss some of the World Series because I'll be in England, but I'll be back for the final games.

I did the Kickbox, legs, and core workout this morning. The Kickbox is only 30 min. long, and really easy to follow and to modify. I shuffle a lot of the jacks, I just did back lunges on the low plane ones off the step, and I did one riser less on both of the step-ups. Other than that, I pretty much did what Cathe does with greater form and precision than I, of course. I wonder if I will get sore from this one. We'll see. I am very afraid of the Boot Camp, though, and may wait until I get back from England before trying it.

Way to go, Nancy! I hate triceps dips, too. I don't mind the step-ups on MM because they are only on a 10 inch step and there are not too many to do--like in ME and one of the High Step tapes. In ME she does them on a 16 inch step, which I just plain refuse to do. I just feel proud of myself for being disciplined enough to workout 6X a week, and if I don't do everything the way Cathe does it, I still feel like I get a decent workout.

How was the wedding, Linny? Are you watching the Red Sox??

Jen, we have this really old elevator in our building, and about 2 weeks ago, a sign was put up next to it, reading, "Elevator Is Safe to Use." Isn't that scarier than no sign at all? As one of my colleagues said, "Would you use a bathroom that had a sign saying, 'Toilet Is Safe to Flush'?" It led to a whole series of jokes about things: "Door Is Safe to Open and Shut" "Light Is Safe to Switch On" The sign is still there, though. If it disappears, hmmm! What will that mean?

Back to work here--brain is safe to think.

Hi Ladies:
Deb: Judging dogs sounds like so much fun. I think I'd want to take them all home with me though. I'm getting back on diet track now that wedding is over and life is normalizing again. Will post menu tomorrow.
Nancy: Glad to have new"face" here. Wedding was for my DH's niece. Her father never acknowledged her as his, so she has always been close to my hubby and asked him to walk her down the aisle. Was pretty crazy with all the women getting dressed at my house. On dips, I too hate them(hurt my wrists).Today I did Stepworks and shoulders from PUB. I typically do one body part and cardio daily.
Josie: So sorry to hear of your cold. I always have something brewing. I started coughing today and had a hard time stopping. A guy from work asked if I was ok. I had tears streaming down my face from coughing so hard.
Garance: Yeah! Red Sox! Too bad you'll be in England when they start the series. My husband thinks Colorado won't do so well since they have been on a break. I hope so! Beautiful wedding but glad its over. I wonder what its going to be like when my daughter gets married.EEKK! ~Linny~
