2 Questions:foot pain & diet/nutrition

Hi all....I know I need to seek medical advice, but am curious to find if anyone else out there has foot pain? I have never experienced anything like this before. Have terrible pain in my left foot after my walking and spin workouts. It is not only in my arch but also the top of my foot....I think I am too scared to go to the dr's because when I was in hs my step mom found out she had cancer because they found a tumor on the top of her foot! Sometimes I also have pain up the front of my leg with the pain in my foot....?

ALSO, can anyone give advice on a solid nutrition/diet book or website? NO fad diet, just actual real -solid, FACTs about what a person needs to live life clean and healthy...and if it helps me to lose 20#, that's a plus!

THANKS-

(will NOT take any info about the foot pain as actual medical advice-I promise!)

My podiatrist told me about Berkenstock, and that is the best thing that has ever happened to me and my feet. They even have insoles to put inside your shoes. Remarkable!

Best books I've come across for nutrition are:

Eat To Live by Joel Fuhrman, M.D.
Tosca Reno The Eat-Clean Diet Book and her cookbook that goes with it
Food For Life by Neal Barnard, M.D.
Cooking The Real Age Way by Michael F. Roizen, M.C., and John La Puma, M.D.
Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle by Tom Venuto

Not necessarily in that order. Hope this helps, it sure does help me.

I have had all kinds of foot pain, all of which I had put off seeing a podiatrist about. When I finally did see him, I regretted having waited. And this happened more than once. I broke a small bone in my left foot (you would think that I would have known it, but I continued to do step for another 6 months on it.) And I have plantar fasciitis in my right foot that I continued to aggravate for a few months. Both times he was able to help me with orthotics, rest, and in the case of the PF, a night splint and stretching exercises. And he had further options for me in case those didn't work, such as cortisone shots, and other procedures.

The chance that it is something life threatening is really very slim (sorry to hear about your Stepmom. I do think that kind of thing is probably pretty rare, though.) Go see the doctor...chances are very good that he/she can help you fix the problem. Good luck!
