Cathlete
Good Morning Girls.

Just gettin' us started. Woke up at 4am and couldn't fall back to sleep again. UGH! Oh well. I'm up nice and early for my first official race training run. It'll be 7 miles this morning. I'm going to run a loop in my town so that I don't have to wait until 8am (when the park opens) to get out there.

Off to catch up with personals...:)

just lost my WHOLE post!!!

okay, how not happy am i??? well, i'll give you a hint:

i just sat here for the past 25 minutes (!!!) writing a post that is now somewhere in cyber space never to be seen again (why don't i do it on word like everyone else?!). usually, i can get it back with my "back" browser button, but there was no way to go back! GRRRR!!!

now, i have to get motoring or i won't get everything i want to get done before i have to go!

i am headed up to the sanctuary again today. i LOVE it there. i have some good photos on my photobucket account if anyone wants to see: www.photobucket.com/lederr

anyway, i am sorry about the lack of personals...i did write them, they just magically disappeared. oh, did i mention that the cathe forums ARE NOW BLOACKED AT MY WORK?!?!

well, at least they are at my middle school. every tech person at the school has to set up specific blocks, so i am holding out hope that i will still be able to get on at my high school. wth am i going to do if i can't get on?!?! work?! it's funny, because i can get on to all the pages on the website BUT the forums.

well, i am at my tantrum limit (i really wish they'd change that as sometimes you need MULTIPLE tantrum girls) and i gotta motor if i'm going to workout before going to the sanctuary. i also want to try and make it to our local farmer's market that they hold every saturday atarting at 0800. it's all locally grown (they will only let people sell who live within 100 miles) and it's at a park about two miles away. i usually take a couple of the dogs and walk over there.

i will try to come back later, but i am usually dog-tired after working at the rescue.

MWAH! hope everyone has a fantabulous saturday!

Personals

Carole: My nutrtion GPA has gone up every day so far but I think I've reached the highest I will get to. I am going to do badly in some areas consistently. I just know it. Oh well. I'm doing well for the most part. :)

Christine: My sister went on WW a couple of time to lose weight after having a baby. She was extremely successful. I've wondered in the past if it would help me to shed the fat I want to lose but I don't want to fall into the trap of making bad choices just because they fit the point scale. I wonder if the core program would be a better option for those trying to make better choices then the regular points program? Have a safe flight! ENJOY!!!

Cathy: I saw the KB work out you did in the social group. I'll have to try it one day. Looks MEAN! ;)
"Yeah, my GPA ranges from 3.2ish to 3.6ish. So, highest honors will never be mine, but that's OK by me -- I'm a girl that likes to eat!!!" ... You took the words right out of my mouth!

Linda: Where are you going on vacation? I am starting my 18 mile race training today so I will be joining you, Cathy and Dallas on the training runs!

Jackie: Enjoy your TM run this morning! Wish I was hittin' the TM but no such luck! Yes, plyo legs is the first One on One work out that was released. Should be getting #2 this month...in 2-3 weeks I guess. Can't wait to see what it is!!!

Karen: Enjoy your vacation! I am jealous! I love Wildwood!

Gloria: My son is a potty training success story! He's going on the potty all the time now. He's napping with no accidents in regular underwear too! We still have pull ups on him at night but are cutting back on the evening liquids and will put him in underwear SOON!:D Give Pip a snuggle for me!

Dallas: YAY for MIL and DH. Glad there is some positive energy floating around your family now. Yes, One on One is a dvd collection. They are supposed to be coming out with some kind of P90X mp3 collection but I'm not sure what it is? Perhaps it's a version of the X to be done on the machines at the gym??? Not really sure about that one.

Okay, I think I'm caught up now....Time fill the coffee cup back up!:)

Good Morning All -

Quick post to tell y'all I'm up and about ready to step into the shower. We're leaving in an hour for NC. I'm excited. Although I will have to say that it is weird not having the dogs around. All last night DH and I were careful to not step on them, making sure snacks were not in reach... and they were not even there! I'm dying for a workout - all I got yesterday was the kettlebell workout Cathy did. I did want a bike ride, but no time. And today - well - it's a travel day. Tomorrow will probably be a run. I'll need it by then! I will have internet access (I'll be taking my laptop, as well), so I'll be able to check in. I did want to tell Cathy and Wendy that I'm right in there with ya on the GPA - 3.3-3.6 - it's good enough for me. Well must be going! Have a great day all!

Good morning, cheetahs! :)

Lorie :: sorry 'bout that lost post. WORD, my friend. Just do it!! :) Have a great day at the sanctuary.

Wendy :: Re: WW, either plan could work IMO, but it's probably easier for someone to go astray with the flex plan. Personally, I needed SOME flexibility. Core was a bit too strict for me, and I don't think I can be successful that way. Enjoy your 7 miler.

Christine :: Safe travels! Hope you enjoy every bit of your time there.

Gloria :: Some of my colleagues use the Bradbury story. OK, that's all the thinking about school I'm going to do for today. :) I'm gonna go ahead and guess that Carole does NOT take any walk breaks during her marathons. *lol*

Dallas :: Great news for DH! Now that's a load off. So glad to hear it. Enjoy your run today. I will check my cookbooks and email you if I have anything like that.

Jackie :: Right now I do hate dressing rooms. But it's my own fault. That's OK. It gives me more motivation. What'd you do last night to chill?

Today is a rest day. All I'll be doing is some yoga.

Have a great Saturday!

Hi Girls.

Hey, anyone notice the new "titles"? They changed senior member to Cathlete! How cute is that!? LOL

So I finished my 7 miler in a respectable time. Slower then race pace for sure but not too bad. It was overcast and not hot when I was out there so that was great but it was a bit humid so it was still a sweaty one for sure!

Cathy: Enjoy your rest/yoga day. Anything fun planned? I would have to agree that our lovely Miss Carole is NOT a walker!:) Sorry dressing rooms are not your friend right now. I know you'll change that soon though. You are determined and now you have Cathe's nutrition plan to help you! Thanks for info on WW plans.

Lorie: Enjoy your day at the rescue. Hope you were able to grab up some yummy produce at the stands this morning. Sorry about the lost post. I feel your pain! I don't use word but DO copy long posts before I post them when I remember that way if it goes *poof* all is not lost. :)

Christine: Have a safe trip!!!!

Good morning cheetahs

Wendy..sorry about the early wake up. Hope the 7 miles goes well. My GPA was 3.5 yesterday, and IA that some things just will always be off like my sodium being a bit high!! I just strive to get mostly A's and all A's in my weight control area.

Cathy...I got an email from Scrabulous and went to a link for them to email me my current games. Nothing came so we will most likely have to start a new one. IA about those 3 way mirrors!! Enjoy rest or yoga...

Lorie...sorry you lost all your post! Hope your day at the sanctuary goes well.

Christine..Have a safe flight and great time in NC! I am liking the nutrition software. As long as I get all A's in my weight control area I am happy!! Sorry about you not making your goal for July...:(..

Linda...I will be looking for your reviews on the One on One with Tony. As I am holding off so far. Good job with Jari and the 4 mile run.

Jackie...my GPA was fairly good yesterday! 3.5. Sounds like a good 4 DS workout and abs yesterday. Wow, you have some hot temps like us!!

Karen...I hope you can enjoy some of your vacation with DH and the kids. I can only imagine how hard it is for you to go. But, sometimes little vacations can help a lot. I hope the knee isn't anything and will go away soon. My continued prayers for you and your family.

Gloria..Yes, Beau is a bit bity (you should see my forearms!) I usually smack him lightly and say no when he bites, unless we are playing and it is an accident. I probably workout over an hour each day. I have never really timed it! I have walked on a couple of my marathons at times but it was normally if something was hurting or once I had stomach cramps as I had drank some nasty water. Normally I prefer not to walk at all. A good training schedule can get you through a marathon without much trouble.

Dallas...glad the chemo went well for your MIL. Also glad to hear DH's test came back 100% fine!! I have a Veggie Taco soup that I add the Quorn crumbles to for more protein but it might be a bit too spicy. I will check my recipes. Yes, the smoke had actually gotten a lot better. Our Air Quality is back in the not bad range! I do mostly squats or deadlifts, leg exts, leg curls and calf raises. One day I do a pyramid style workout (so 5 sets) and the other day I do a super set, meaning one set of each exercise (12-15 reps) back to back (squats, exts, curls and calves) then a 90 sec rest and do that for 4-5 sets. No, I don't mind you asking at all...:)

Today is KenpoX+ for me..

Have a great day...:)

<I'm gonna go ahead and guess that Carole does NOT take any walk breaks during her marathons. *lol*>

Cathy....for the most part you are right! After Gloria asked me I had to think...I remember Tahoe as I had IT band issues. San Jose, the stomach cramps, and the last one in my home town (as I had not trained well)..3 out of 12 is not bad...:)

Wendy :: good job with your run...Yeah, I'm back where I need to be mentally. That day I got on the scale and had a good shock it was like the flip of a switch. I've been back on track for nearly two weeks now, and the scale is once again moving in the right direction. I just have to stay consistent, and above all, be *patient.* It always comes off slower than it goes on. I was out last night; nothing tonight on account of Sunday morning's long run. May catch a matinee today. How 'bout yourself?

Carole :: A GPA of 3.5 is GREAT! :) IA. Straight A's would be too strict for me personally. My goal here is to revise my eating habits so that I'm healthy, have energy, and still enjoy my food! Total deprivation is no way to live, IMO...I'll be doing flexibility-based yoga, so in my mind, it's the same as a rest day. I downloaded Scrabble Beta on FB and tried to invite you. It appears to have started us a game right away. Enjoy KenpoX+.

Not bad? Are you kidding?! You are awesome!

thanks...

Good Morning!

Wendy: So cool that DS has done so well with the potty training! Congrats on the seven miler this morning.

Lorie: Sorry about the loss of personals. VERY frustrating when you spend so much time responding to everyone. Sounds like the rest of your day is going to be perfect! Have fun!

Christine: Hope your travels are safe! Looking forward to when you can check in and let us know how much fun you are having.

Dallas: Good news for your family!! :) Soup is a good idea for MIL. I will see if I have anything. Enjoy your run today.

Cathy: It does not surprise me that Carole rarely takes walking breaks. :) Enjoy the rest and yoga today. What matinee are you thinking of going to?

Carole: Thanks for answering my many questions from yesterday! :) I appreciate it. My hands are bearing the brunt of Pip. They are babies so we'll just have to keep working on it. Enjoy KenpoX today.

I am not going to say what workout I am doing today since I always end up changing my mind. :) I will keep you posted later on today though. It is nice and cool out today which is nice for once. Dh and I had another campfire last night. That is one of my favorite things to do. Hope all have great workouts/rest today. BBL.

Yeah!!!

Hola Cheetahs!

I'm so happy today's run was fine, well, except for the heat. ;) It was hard. I know taking a week off from running probably didn't help, but it had to be done. Anyway, why did the 12 miler two weeks ago not seem as hard as today's run!?!?! We did half of that today!! Should I be nervous for next week? Any words of advice for this week? I don't want to totally bonk. The coach said it's all in the sun! Uh-oh! Oh, did some abs and more stretching too.

Our friends kept our kids over night. :D I felt like Christine when I heard a noise, I thought it was them in the middle of the night. Once I realized that they weren't here, I got freaked like someone had broken into the house. That was nice of them, and dh and I had a marathon talk. I am a bit tired today because of it. Almost didn't want to get up and run w/TNT. lol I knew I needed to though. I can continue to run with them and the coaches agreed to sign up for another endurance race right now(with all that's going on here) is probably not a good idea. They'll add spinning when the weather changes! Yippee!

Anyhoo, thanks for looking for recipes. I guess they can have meat in them. My mil is not a vegetarian. I'll check my Clean Eating magazines. I haven't made any soups from there, but some other yummy dishes! Yep, good news here...finally!

Gloria ~ Hanging out by the camp fire was one of my favorite things to do as a kid. Maybe it was the roasting marshmallows??? LOL Enjoy whatever workout you decide to do!

Cathy ~ Wonder what straight A's would have one eating - whole grain bread and water? LOL  I'm curious where my diet would fall? Maybe I'll sign on for a month. Is it time consuming? Maybe I should wait until the kids go back to school???

Carole ~ Thanks for explaining your leg workouts. I'll write it down for future reference. IA 2nd the AWESOMENESS about your marathons!! I'll take that veggie taco soup. Did you post it before, I vaguely remember it being discussed.

Wendy ~ I wonder if that was a suggestion from a forum member about the Cathlete? I like it! How did the 7 miler go? It was hot at 7A! Thanks for straightening that out for me...I guess I got the two confused re: P90X and One on One on MP3 files.

Christine ~ Happy and safe traveling! Have fun!!!

Lorie ~ How was the concert? Sorry about the lost post! I used to hit the back arrow as well on the old forum and always managed to save my posts. You know, I've been hitting "preview post" button lately during a lengthy post and that seems to help, then I continue with the personals. I haven't lost one yet doing it that way. Don't know if I just started typing faster....LOL Sounds like you have a nice day planned. Enjoy!

Hi to the rest of the Cheetahs!

We're going out tonight. I think it will do dh some good. Have to leave to take DS8 to a b-day party.

Have a great day!

ETA: I wonder why mine says, "Catheite"? Guess there's a cut off on join date, huh?

Hi Cheetahs!

Gloria - I'm from TN. My sis moved to MI after college met her DH there and they now have 2 children. I normally visit my sis in Chicago and the one in Detroit in October unless something comes up. I thought I would be able to swing it this year but don't think it's going to happen. The new house has taken all of my extra cash for this year. Maybe next year I'll be back in the swing of things. The Detroit Marathon sounds exciting! Glad you enjoyed the camp fire. Do you roast things and tell ghost stories too?

Dallas - So happy things are going well with MIL and DH! That was a good day for you. They will continue to be in my prayers. I use to drink up to 160 oz. of water. Eventually got tired of running to the bathroom all the time and getting up more than once at night. Now, I drink from 80-100 oz. daily. That works fine. Hope you had a good run!

Wendy - Sorry for the problems sleeping! Been there done that and probably will be back there again. Great job on your first official training run! Great that DS is potty trained! Yippee!!

Lorie - Love, love, love tantrum girl! Too cute!! Sorry you lost your post! Enjoy the sanctuary today. I wish they would raise the limit on the smileys too.

Christine - Have a safe trip! How cute that you and DH were trying not to step on the dogs! LOL! Hope you can make up for the missed workout tomorrow.

Cathy - I hate dressing rooms because you think you look decent and you get in there and have to do a double take. What happened? UGH! Since I haven't bought anything this year, I've been spared. Enjoy your rest day and yoga.

Carole - Glad the GPA improved. Is your sodium intake higher because of processed foods? I have to watch that when I'm buying vegetarian products. Been doing pretty good too. Glad air quality is improving again. Enjoy KenpoX+.

I did iTread #8 60 minutes and some stretching. I stayed with the joggers speed to make the run an easier one. Afterwards, I watered my plants and washed my car. Now, all I want to do is chill. DBF is supposed to be here later today.

Enjoy your day ladies!

Good Afternoon Girls. :)

I am SORE! My tush and upper thighs are yellin' at me right now!;) I guess I shouldn't be surprised after doing Plyo Legs and a 7 mile run back to back, ey? LOL

Jackie: Enjoy your chill time and DBF's company later. Insomnia stinks. Thankfully I don't suffer from it as much as I have in the past. Prior to this past week it hasn't been a problem for quite some time. I hope it passes quickly.

Dallas: Hope your chat with DH was a positive one. Funny about the kids not being there. DS spends nights away pretty frequently and I still sometimes forget he's not in his crib asleep at night. LOL Sorry you had a tough run this morning. Sometimes these things happen. If you were tired then that's probably why. The important thing is that you pushed through and completed it. The Cathlete, Catheite, etc are based on post count. You need a certain # of posts to move up the ranks so start postin' girl!:D

Gloria: LOL about changing your mind about your work out. I am guilty of that quite often myself.

Cathy: So didja get to the movies today? If so, what didja see? I took Joey out for a little while this morning to play in the sprinkler. Just got up from a short snooze. Gonna spend some time with DH while DS naps. Tonight I am going out with BMF for a bit. We haven't hung out in ages.

Carole: I had a thought during my run about the sodium intake as mine is high too. It's probably not as high as what the program states because don't forget, we sweat daily when we work out so naturally we will sweat out some of that sodium, right? Perhaps we are still over but not by as much as it says. I'm not worried about it though. My blood pressure is fine.

K, I appear to be all caught up now and DH is waiting for me so I'd better go. ;)

BBL~

::: It's a bird, it's a plane, it's...Carole!!! ::: :) :) :)

Did y'all hear -- the smiley limit has been boosted to 15?

Gloria/Wendy :: I went to see Step Brothers. Chuckle-worthy but I wouldn't put it up next to, say, Anchorman.

Gloria :: Hope you enjoyed your workout. Glad the weather's been to good to you up there.

Jackie :: I tried on some black shorts. If you can't get black shorts right, you *know* it's time to padlock the fridge. *lol* :) Enjoy your downtime with DBF.

Wendy :: have fun tonight! Guess I know what you're gonna get an F in tonight! ;) :)

Dallas :: I wouldn't be concerned for next week...best to stay positive, IMO, and take each run as it comes. Some for me have been harder than others. But the same has been true when I'm not doing specific training...I think initially the nutrition software will suck up some time as you orientate yourself with it and log in your custom foods and favorites. I do find myself spending more time on the site. I'll log in to add to or revise the plan, and then I find myself shooting over here real quick.

Opted for a DIY yoga practice (about 20 min.) emphasizing the lower body. Feelin' good n' stretched.

:)Dallas: I have been forgetting to mention that I love your new avatar! :) I always read the Garfield comic when I was a kid. Good to hear you and DH were able to talk about things. Some runs are just buggers like that. Enjoy the night out with DH! No marshmellows, but we did each have a cab! ;)

Jackie: Hopefully next year you can see your sis in Detroit. I have never seen the Detroit Marathon take place. I do get a flyer for it every year. DH and I don't roast things, but just chat and watch the dogs. You did have me laughing about the ghost stories. Maybe next time we will make one up. LOL! :) That would be fun. He would probably be all for it since we are both a little silly. On the Itreads I keep my pace between the jogger and runner speed. I have not gotten to runner's speed full time yet. Do you take the walking breaks? I just lower to jog pace for those. Enjoy the evening with DBF. Hope you got your chillin time in.

Wendy: We seem to be a lot alike with the indecision with the workouts! :) Hope you had a nice time with DH and BMF tonight! Oh yes, Pip was given a snuggle for you. She is so dang cute it is sick!!!!

Cathy: I think I have heard of that movie. Will Ferrel is in it right? I think I saw that on Regis and Kelly. Glad you are feeling nice and stretched out. Good luck on the long run tomorrow. :) The weather today has been nice.

Today I did 4DS bootcamp cardio and Tamilee Webb I Want Those Arms workout, which is fifteen minutes. Didn't feel like doing anything too taxing today, but didn't want to bag a workout all together. I am running tomorrow. I am going on my first kayaking trips tomorrow. Gotta run, apparently we are going out tonight! Have nice evening all...

Did y'all hear -- the smiley limit has been boosted to 15?

I noticed it was allowing more smilies but didn't know the new limit. Super cool! I know someone requested more! I'm happy SNM went for it. :)

Gloria/Wendy :: I went to see Step Brothers. Chuckle-worthy but I wouldn't put it up next to, say, Anchorman.
I just saw the trailer for that today as a matter of fact. I'll wait for it to come out on video.

Wendy :: have fun tonight! Guess I know what you're gonna get an F in tonight! ;) :)
LOL, you mean CABS?? :p Actully my plans have been cancelled...well, postponed until after the RT. That doesn't mean I won't consume CABS tonight though. I just might have to dub thee a GH night!
