Is Mother's Day a rest day or...

I went to the pool where my son was lifeguarding and did my laps. He said, it is Mother's day, you are suppose to rest, take it easy. I said, no, it is my day to do what I want, which is to work out!

    CIA 2605 Cardio-camp work-out

I just did the Sharon video this afternoon, and all I can say is WOW, that is quite a work-out. I don't know what to compare it to. maybe bootcamp on speed, I don't know. It is tough, but time flew and I enjoyed it!

    Idol Chat

I watched it late last night, and then just the singing this morning. I thought Chris's first song, Taylors second song, and Elliott's second song were good. Kat, meh, for both. At the end of her first song I was actually cringing because of the shrill sound. This morning, Elliott's first...

    Cathe's rotations...

I started late, am currently on the middle of week 3 of this rotation. I also did the August rotation plus 15,000 yards a week swimming. This time I am using a rebounder to minimize impact, and am only swimming 10,000 per week due to time. August I had 2 weeks vacation. What I have found...

    Cathe! Read this! :)

Everything Cathe does is facing us. So when she tells up to step with our right, it is actually her left. So she put the band on her left wrist to remind herself that she needed to cue right when she was actually using left. I cannot imagine how hard it must be to be able to cue the opposite...

Cathe, glad to hear you are doing better. It is no fun recovering from an injury, but it is important to take the time now, to fully recover. Good luck!!

Starting January 06 rotation in a few days....

I will!. I did August and loved it. Did not get day one of week 2 in today, so will do a work-out at the Y tonight, and start week 2 tomorrow. I was really proud that I did week 1 straight through last week, plus swam 6000 yards to boot!

Starting January 06 rotation in a few days....

I did week one last week and survived. I had to run a swim meet, so did not work out Saturdy, Sunday or Monday, and have to take my car in tomorrow to be worked on, so won't have time to start week two in the morning. I may just do part of week two day one, and then do something more at night.

Back to swimming after a cold?

Oh YuCK A-jock! I am a swimmer and the water environment does loosen everything up so you are not totally stuffed. You can do more kick sets if you are so clogged that you feel it is getting in the water too much. Having something to wipe your nose at the end is good also. I have not had...

Birthday Present for a 13 year old girl

My 12 going on 13 would love a pedicure or manicure. She is also into art, and loves new pencils, sketch books, writing tablets(she writes stories and illustrates them). So if she has some sort of hobby she focuses on, you could do something like that to make it specia..

Whats up with the pajama pants?

Regarding the muffin tops. When I said that, I am not bashing overweight people, but the people who wear the really low cut jeans too tight. I always think, man, if they just wore the correct size, they would look nice. <Me who absolutely loves comfort, and really does not worry about what...

Whats up with the pajama pants?

I wonder how much of this depends on if you are rural or live in a city. I have no problem wearing sweatpants and no make-up(I do brush my hair) for a quick trip to the store. It is a small town, no big deal. I would not wear PJ bottoms, but at the U of I which is a huge campus, it is all over...

Whats up with the pajama pants?

My DD is a swimmer, and that is what the swimmers wear into practice at night. I guess it does not bother me at all. I coached her Jr High rec softball team last summer. It was just a fun little slow pitch league, not the serious fast pitch traveling league, and all the girls on all the teams...

Walking Lunges...where do you perform these...

When I did them for the August rotation, I did them outside, very early in the morning, with my golden romping around me thinking I was nuts! My neighbor caught me one morning! Now, I just go back and forth in my family room and up and down the hall way. Not as fun as outside, but with icky...

    This is about my son!!!

No problem. I joke that teen age boys are alien creatures. Really they have such tender hearts, and they try to be tough and cover it up. I think taking him to the doctor and getting him to connect with men you trust will help him a lot. Now if I could figure out my almost teen age...
