My Fitness Goals
To be fit and healthy as far into my senior years as possible, and to be able to remain independent for as long as I can.
My Success Story
I was desperately out of shape when I was in my 20s. I joined gyms, but found that going to the gym wasn't really very convenient for me. I started walking a lot, but that didn't give me the shape I really wanted. So I started working out with vinyl record workouts (something called "Dancercize" was my first one). I did Jazzercize, Joanie Greggains' "Morning Stretch," Kathy Smith workouts and whatever else I could get my hands on. In 1986, I started collecting The Firm workouts and finally saw the results I wanted (these were my first at-home workouts which included weights). I love working out and feeling great. Although my husband is a year and a half younger than I am, he likes to play a game with his clients called "How Much Younger is My Wife Than I Am?" I've had several guesses of 15 years! I'm totally sold on the advantages of staying in shape.
