Same issue :( I have the same problem - except that the 2 new DVDs I recieved don't play at all on my older DVD player (and it's about 6 years old). I DID change the settings on it, and the tv to the suggested setting. These WILL play on my daughter's cheapo $30 dvd player she got for...
