Sugarless Mommas and babies 3/21-3/27

Sweetpea1

Cathlete
Morning all! Just getting us started! James had another good night. I really think the probiotics help. Hoping to get a run in this AM before going to a family bbq to eat German food. I plan on just taste testing but if its really good, I may eat too much. :D

BBL!

Christine~ I sent you a PM yesterday. Let me know if you didn't get it. ;)

I got 8 hours of sleep last night! I don't feel any different, but my scale moved to the left a again. That feels good, but if I lose any more my clothes won't fit me...so I'm not sure how I feel about that. I want to be lighter for my running performance...but I don't want to buy new clothes. Hmm..... I've never been able to MAINTAIN a lighter than 135lb lifestyle, so we'll see.

Girls are fussy...we're going to try to go to God's House.....BBL

Melanie- Yes, got the PM and want to send you the same info from my end and hope to do it tiday! I am excited! Woo hoo! Glad that you got the sleep. I hear you about lower than 135. I like the thrill of being below it, but it is too light for me below 135. Weird, right? Hope you have a great day!
Jen- Eat some for me! Yummy! And, I am so glad that the probiotics help. I ran out and forgot to give them to john for a few days and the gas started again!
Lisa- I hear you on the not taking the time for yourself. I do that a lot. YEsterday I stood up for myself and walked out the door to go on a run and was SHOCKED that he was actually cooking noodles for Jimmy for lunch. He was useful!!!
Have to run, BBL!

The beer didn't go down yesterday. So it's dark beer that helps with milk? I cannot stand beer...but thought I'd go for it for my wee-ones. We had Michelob (sp?) bottled beer. Is there are low calories light tasting beer that someone might be able to suggest for me?

Christine~ glad you got the PM. A person has to know to look up there to know that have a message....wasn't sure if you were a looker. Yeah to DH cooking noodles. My DH is much better than he was with other kiddos; but he fishes ALL THE TIME...as ya'll know...he's AWOL alot more than he should be. I shouldn't be complaining though...yesterday he was home all day (the lake is unsafe to drive on now & fishing will be slow until boat season opens). PLUS he's going to church this AM with me AND he'll have to watch the kids while I attempt my long run.

I hope to run 8 miles today (training schedule). My personal goal is just going to be 7 miles though. I hope I don't sound wimpy...but I don't want to not reach my goal again, it's tough on the ego....I'm so goal orientated and feel like a real loser when I don't reach my goals....so I work hard to set realistic goals so I can reach them. If I go over, I feel like superwoman. lol I slept 8 hours but still feel overtired. Not sure what's going on....except my increase workload might take a bit to get used to.

Alrighty, best get going! I'm having fun trying on all my "skinny" clothes today. lol

Either Michelop or Miller make a 64 calorie beer. IT does not taste great but is low calorie. A beer that I like, is Blue Moon. I pour it in a glass and squeeze a slice of orange into it. Since you are not a huge fan of beer, is there any other way to get the hops? I wonder if there is a natural food store that carries it? I sent you a PM back. It is funny that you said that, I NEVER look up there and I did for some reason! Yay! Glad that the river is thawing, no more AWOL hubby! Have a great time trying on skinny clothes. I put on my pre preg skinny jeans yesterday adn was so proud, I even put on jewelry, hubby was excited to see me not wearing sweats!
John is doing well at night. He goes down between 7:30 and 8:30 at night and eats around 2am, gets up between 5:30am or 6:30am... I do not mind getting up early most days... My eyes are burning today though. I was so tired. Everyone here was last night.
Jen - I really want to start my STS since you and Susan are ravign about it, after I finish Charlean. I have a smaller house, so I do not bring the barbell in and jsut use the heavy dumbbels, probably why I veer towards the CTX. Do you have all teh equipment, do you find it hard to ammend the moves?
Priscilla- Hope you had a great night!
Lisa- Hope you get a great workout in today.
Susan- Get home already!

CHristine; For the first meso, all you need is band, stablitly ball, barbell and dumbbells. I don't do the chinup/pullups and just use our bowflex and do lat pulldowns which seems to work just fine. I use the bench as my chair except for the sit n stands which i didnt like anyway and just did lunges. my w/o room is small but so far it has been working fine. I love blue moon! i usually have michelob ultra if i have a beer. i'm not a fan of dark beer.

I hope you acheive your 7 mi and more! I hear ya on the personal goals. I get frustrated easily too when it comes to mad goals i set in my head. someone told me it was dark beer that helps (old wives tale) but i don't know if its true.

Thats funny that all of us hover around 135. I dont like the way i look any lighter than that. if i put on more muscle i would be pleased with 140. ok off to family event. bbl!

I always end up posting Sunday morning on last weeks thread. anyway,...
The thread title this week...I think Sugar Mama when I read it :)

Glad to hear the scale is still moving for you, Melanie! Feeling like a wimp with 7miles? Not even close. You have 5kids, work long days, and rock the workouts--you will never be a wimp in my book!

Christine-isn't the skinny jean feeling great?! I'll get there again someday....it's been a huge test of my patience having not lost a bit in 5 weeks (and still just 2lbs less than the day I came home!).

I did IMAX2 and CLX Extreme Abs today. It's sunny and 50ish today, warm by March in MN standards, so I hope to take Caden for a walk later if I can leave Reese w dh.

Jen- I am such a fan of blue moon. MMMMMM. Do you put orange in yours? I might have one right now!
Melanie- I am the same way. I set huge goals and then get down when I do not meet them. Like the others said, You are an inspiration and strong and making it happen. I could not do half of what you do. Hopefully you had a great run, poop free!
Lisa- Sounds like you had a good workout, good! Did you get a walk in?
Family run today, about 7 miles. I came home and did Squeeze Stronger Upper Body and then an Ab video that works but is lame. DH said it was the aerobic equivalent of a homemade porno. THanks honey. THat makes it much easier to finish. It was filmed in teh early 90s. You know the kind, with weird people in a lot of make up doign abs on carpet? It works but now it is tainted for me because I see these people and can only think porn. So back to CoreMax and CLX!
Off to have lunch and try to be less grumpy!

Well, I got back from my six miler. Ugh. I had to run/walk much of it. I dunno what's happening, I"m getting worse not better. I will need to take it down more this week maybe? Maybe it's b/c of increased working hours? Urgh.

Mel- are you dehydrated? Dh and I notice we struggle and our heart rates get too high when we are dehydrated. I was today and had a hard ti
e and my heart rate was high 170s and is usuLly 150s for a 9 min pace. I know you are bummed but be proud you did it. We are for you. Nap for you if you work tomorrow! Also, when I get below 135, I have a hard time with endurance. Have you ever had that happen?

Well it looks like Plague 2010 is hittin my house. :( DH has stomach cramps, feels like he will throw up and body aches. The bad part is usually when he starts throwing up, he can't stop and ends up in hospital with dehydration. Guess we will have to call Grandma again.

We had a nice time with my family and the German food. I had small portions and didn't stuff myself so I don't feel too horrible. It was one of my cousin's birthday and after the presents I found myself CRAVING cake. WTH??

Melanie- Sorry about the run. :( Maybe Christine is right about the increased work hours and all you do. Your body is probably beat! Try not to get to down on yourself. You still have an amazing body that has bounced back from four pregnancies and you are training for a half marathon all the while running a household while your DH goes AWOL and fishes the days away! ;) I'm still barely able to eek out 2.5 miles without having some ache or pain. I'm frustrated but just taking it one run at a time. I'll get there eventually... ((sigh)). And so will you. :D

Christine- You know, I've never tried it with an orange. I'll have to try that next time. I tried some of my dad's german beer today and it was ok. First of all I need my beer ICE ICE cold and this one was room temp. Your DH has some very colorful descriptions and analysis of things. :D But his description of a 90s workout video is pretty accurate. ;) Maybe he just wants you to skip the workout and head to the bedroom...

Lisa- Hope you got your walk in with Caden. What is CLX abs like? I keep trying to switch up my ab work so it is effective. Do you like it?

Hi Ladies!
hope you had a nice weekend...I will read and catch up later. We had a nice and I didnt eat tooooo too much lol. I am fat though.....5 pounds has got come off of me. i have been working out but really lax about my eating... my meals are great its the other stuff that has done me in....so here I go. I will weigh in the morning and post my pathetic weight...I must be 120 or so... My goal is 115..I feel GREAT at that weight. I really think I am a binge eater..its all or nothing with me and I need to get a grip on that. When I good Im really good..when Im bad.. Im BAD.
Ok..gotta get laundry started..bb to read and catch up.

Susan, aren't you eating well? Let's be accountable to one another! POST YOUR MENUS. :D :D

I followed Christine's orders & took a nap. I cannot believe how tired I am lately. If I didn't know better, I'd think I was pg....of course that'd be immaculate conception b/c there's none of that going on around here....but we're getting close with our flirtatious talking. :p

Since I am taking care of DH and James, I have to confess that my dinner wasn't clean. I had egg beaters with mont. jack cheese (Lowfat) and two frozen waffles with more syrup than I should have. It was YUM! I was going to make this yummy chicken recipe with smashed potatoes but since DH is sick, I didn't want to cook just for me. :(

Welcome back Susan!

I somehow missed your post abou the plague, Jen! URGH!! QUARANTINE....SEND FOR MIL!!! :p

Your dinner sounded really good.........until you started describing your waffles.

After my run I had 3 lactation cookies & the last mountain dew in the house. Other than that clean clean clean. Even had a gigantic salad for lunch. I figure lacation cookies are clean with the flaxseed & WW flour in them. :p

Good morning Sugarless Mamas!

Jen-So sorry to hear that sickness has hit your house again. Your dinner sounded delic ;). I really liked CLX Extreme Abs. I thought it moved well (I hate time spent explaining moves during any workout) and was fairly challenging

Nice to see I'm not the only one who was suddenly wanting sugar when it was off limits! Today I am definitely making the firm commitment to say no. I slipped a little here and there and feel all puffy from it. I also noticed something with pasta---I've really been cutting down on the carbs I get from bread, pasta, and crackers (though they were all whole wheat). Well, I had pasta yesterday for lunch, and I just felt like crap the rest of the day, including extra puffy through my midsection. I think I need to stick with my protein/veggie focused meals.

I didn't get the walk in, as my dad stopped by to do some work in our kitchen. It was a good reason to miss the walk. He was removing some cabinets that need modified to fit a new refrigerator. He's also helping DH refloor the kitchen this week, so I welcomed him coming to plan it all out!

It may take me all morning to get my workout in today, as DH isn't able to take Reese. I have P90x Shoulders, Tri, Chest as a MUST and a short treadmill run tacked on if Reese allows. I still can't seem to give up the P90x. Maybe I'll just push through this one rotation and then take a break with lighter lifting to see how my joints respond.

I have my 6week check up today. I'm going to talk to her about Reglan and birth control options. I was thinking about an IUD...maybe Paragard?? I CANNOT, I repeat CANNOT, get pregnant. We're either done having kids or won't be having another until Caden is in kindergarten. We don't have another bedroom, and I can't afford 3 in day care. This birth control has to work! Then again, DH and I already practice the ultimate birth control: abstinence.

all for now

Morning ladies,
I have not read allt he posts..but will today. I gotta get on top of it!!
disk 10 done! I plan to do meso 1 one more time starting next week..then char.
Ok weight was 121 on the nose...I will post my meals and weight daily.

We gave K some cereal at dinner last night. For a few weeks she has just been watching us intently eating. Not fussing or anything..just watching with a very serious look on her face. She will be 6 mos on the 12 ..so I figured it wasnt too early. Well, it was not too early at all. None of the cereal came back out..she was grabbing my hand sucking the food off the spoon..it was hilarious. I only fed her a couple teaspoons total..but she LOVED it! I will do it once a day for a while. Heres a pic. It wasnt planned so ignore the make-do bib I had to grab quickly. The hard part of pumping milk so quick!
She slept pretty good too...7 hours then is still asleep after 2..we'll see. Not sure if it was the food or that fact she didnt anp much yesterday.
Going to get Hep B shot today..one of 3 I need...grrrrr.
I love working out early and getting it done! H is up wanting food. bb

dh was a sweetheart last night. so some quiet time was very appreciated once we got the gremlins to bed.
i have been having crummy workouts, and am having a hard time taking a few days off, even though i know it is what i need. boo. i am going to try a kickbox wo that i got from a very nice person in the mail (ahem, melanie...). maybe i just need to do something new where i cannot recite everything...
okay, got to get this baby to sleep so i can run. bbl

James had his fourth month appt this AM. He is 13 lbs 5 oz and 26 in long. He got two shots. Poor baby! He did good on the first shot but cried for the second. And he yelled at the nurse while he was crying. :( He is at daycare today so DH can get some rest. DH is on his death bed and I think I am soon headed there. I feel soooo tired and out of it and have a headache. My stomach has just felt "off" but I've been eating. Don't think I will get a workout in tonight. :( Oh and dr said we can start cereal and foods. Funny how different drs are Susan. Yours says wait til 6 mo and mine said its okay. And he okay'd juice too but we just aren't telling MIL.

Ok well I gotta get work done in case I am out tomorrow.

I have to laugh when I log on and we are all online at the same time. So, where are you all lurking? Off to the craft store. I love holiday crafts!
