Hi gals. I'm patiently awaiting DH to return with the minivan so we can vaccuum it quick (2 inches thick with German Shepherd fur) and pack for our mini-trip to see maternal/fetal specialist. Those of you who are my facebook friends,.....I'll post sexes on my way home. :D Please agree with us in prayer that the twins are doing perfectly!!!

Wendy, how's your Dad doing?

Precilla, I'm eager to see how your appt goes (and to see more u/s pics)

Christine, thanks for all your positive energy. I'm fortunate to say I've been part of many Cathe check-ins,.....and they've never been anything but positive.

Jen, looks like the nursery is coming together nicely. I like the stain color. Are you going to go with a theme?

Allison/Dawn~ Sept isn't that far away!!!!

Kristine~ energy coming back at all?

Okay,....I'm off. Have a great day ladies!!!

Hi!
Hope all of you have had a nice week! I have tried to read here and there but with company its hard. 5 kids wrecked my house, but I have finally got things back in order. We had a really nice time! I put on 3 pounds too. Haley tells me she is sure she wants a sister now after practicing with Abbey who is 14 months....thats a good thing!!
I have had a few great nights sleep this week...waking up only once at 2 and no butt pain. Last 2 nights the butt pain has come back. 10 weeks to go! I finally worked out yesterday doing MM and today I plan on a short walk.
I go to the dr tomorrow.

Melanie-you are so in my prayers!!! I can't wait to hear all your news.
Jen-love the furniture.
Wendy-let us know how your dad is.

Haley and Paul are waiting on me to make a trip to Target and Old Navy. I will finish up personals later today.
Waves to everyone!!!!!!

Susan, 5 kids?! Yikes! Too cute that Haley is ready for a baby sis now that she's "practiced." LOL

Melanie, good luck at your appt! 8 hours? I sometimes take for granted all the medical luxuries we have within miles of our house -- city living is a bit much sometimes, but Philadelphia has so many hospitals! Can't wait to hear what you're having :)

Jen, answering your question from last week's thread, when I spoke to a lactation consultant before having DD, she advised not getting nursing bra happy until my milk came in. Some women end up with enormous boobs, others don't see much change from pregnancy. I had one before going into the hospital, because I thought I needed one! But nursing didn't work out for us, and I quit after 6 weeks.

We got most of the furniture moved around this weekend!! It was a MESS! As my brother-in-law said when he walked in (to help move the couches), "It looks like you're moving, even though you're not."

DD is loving her "big kid" bed :)

I have to finish painting bookcases for DD's room, and we have to buy a table or desk in order to relocate the computer from the nursery to the living room. So, we're A LOT closer than we were a couple days ago. Yay!

The baby has been moving. A LOT. I hope he's not planning on coming out anytime soon!

Hi everyone-
I haven't been around since dad's surgery last Wednesday but wanted to give you all an update. The surgery took 7 1/2 hours but the surgeon says he got 98% of the cancer which was also around his heart. Friday he couldn't move his leg but once they removed the catheter from his back he regained movement. Now, he's in alot of pain and has 2 chest tubes not to mention IV's in both arms, on oxygen, etc. Doesn't look like he'll be coming home for a while.

Tomorrow I'm leaving Brooke w/ a friend but the round trip drive is 6 hours so I won't be able to be at the hospital too long but I feel I need to be there. Now I'm down to 5 vacation days to use on maternity leave. Oh well, my DH isn't concerned so I guess we'll worry about that later.

I haven't worked out in a week and just don't have the energy but I don't really care at this point.

Thank goodness baby moves alot so that's reassuring.

I haven't had a chance to see how everyone is doing but I hope all is going well for all of you!

Good morning, Melanie, Susan, Allison, Wendy, and everyone else,

Wendy, glad to hear your dad made it through surgery. I hope his pain subsides soon. And we're with you. You just have to do the best you can each day; the maternity leave will somehow work itself out I'm sure. Being there for your dad right now sounds like the best thing for the family.

Melanie, we're all waiting with anticipation . . .

Susan and Allison, glad to hear things are going well with your preparations. And glad you have LOTS of other children to keep you busy. :)

My little girl is moving around a lot now, too. I'm actually glad I'm down to a Dr's apt every other week. It's almost like I need constant reassurance now that the baby is still doing well.

Since I live about 6 hours from my parents, I bought them an early birthday present this weekend--a Web Cam. I think they will be thrilled to be able to see the baby in real time. I also can imagine some virtual baby sitting perhaps. :) I'll set the baby up on her swing, get my mom to watch her over the computer and call me if there are any problems while I exercise. My mother will be thrilled. :)

I hope everyone else is doing OK and that includes the babies. I managed Body Fusion this weekend (someone suggested it last week and thank you for that). I used only 5 lb weights and found my arms really burned. I also managed 30 minutes of an early Cathe video (How to Get in Shape for Your Wedding actually. :) ). I really started sweating so I stopped, just exhausted after 30 minutes. It's hard to imagine that I often did Maximum Intensity Cardio without stopping 8 months ago--with two risers during the step portion.

Hope everyone has a great week.

Dawn

Wendy- I'm relieved to hear that your dad made it through surgery. I agree that the maternity leave will work itself out. You are where you need to be right now.

Allison- Thanks for the tip about the nursing bras. I just don't want to spend money on something I may or may not need. Glad you are getting things done around the house but just remember to put your feet up and rest!

Dawn- I think the web cam babysitting sounds like a great idea so you can work out! My mom is only 20 minutes away and I think it would be a great idea for her too! ;) Way to go on the workouts!

Melanie- Can't wait to hear the gender! You and the little ones are in my prayers as always!

Well, I couldn't sleep anymore this morning so I woke up at 5:30 am and did Amy Bento's Kickboxing Extreme with modifications for about 25 minutes. I just really wanted to get moving and stretch. If I stay awake tonight, I will do The Firm Yoga again. I have started feeling much better and actually looking forward to working out. Thanks to all you hardcore preggos for keeping me inspired!

Waves to all beautiful and fit preggos! Have a great day!

Morning!
Butt pain kept me up most of the night. I took a tylenol at 1 but it didnt help much. I did LIS this morning...and finally by the time it was over I was feeling energetic. Now..not so much! I"ll get a power nap in at some point I hope. I go to the dr at 130. I wish I was getting a u/s..but I doubt it. I feel huge and getting uncomfortable...ugh!

Melanie-prayers are coming your way.

Wendy-hope your dad's pain gets better quickly! Hang in there!!

Jen-I never used a nursing bra. I had a good sports bra that I just lifted up. To me that was easier that unhooking etc. What I did find helping was a sleep bra. Good job on the workout!!

Dawn-^5 on your workout. I have BF but have never tried it. I might pull it out this week. I agree, its hard to imagine doing the hard wokouts I did just months ago. We'll get back to it soon!

Hi Christine, Pricilla, Allison, Kristine, Cee!!!

I just read on facebook that Melanie is have 2 identical girls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yayyyyy

Melanie-can't wait to get the details!

My appt was non eventful. He did tell me to just go ahead and take tylenol before bed. I really try not to take anything, but the butt pain is getting bad.

:D Thank you for updating, Susan. I was hoping someone would do that.

I don't really have details,....just that they are perfect so far. Maternal/fetal specialist recommeneded ob/gyn to follow every 3 weeks (with u/s) until week 32 then every 2 weeks with stress tests. She also recommended a possible steriod burst prior to delivery---so maybe I can deliver via spinal c/s instead of general anesthesia (steroids may boost platelets to normal range for spinal block).

Mommy is extremely tired now. I've spent 10+ hours on the road today only,.....and have to work tomorrow........ zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Congratulations Melanie!!! I am so happy for you!!!

Susan- I get "butt cramps" now at night if I sleep on my side for too long. It goes away when I turn over but then the other one does it. I notice it only after about 6 hours of sleep. I sometimes take a Tylenol before bed and it does help get me through most of the night.

Not a whole lot going on here. Hoping to do another Firm workout tonight or maybe KM, just not sure yet, depends on what mood I am in after work.

Hi to all the other preggos! Will check back later!

Morning!
Melanie-has your great news sunk in yet???
Wendy-hope you dad is feeling better!
Jen-you get 6 hours of straight sleep?????I am so jealous! I usually get up every 3 hours at least to pee. Only my right butt cheek hurts at night. And I have noticed if I stay on my left side Im good...but my left shoulder starts to ache so I turn over and sure enough an hour later my butt is killing me.
I did sleep more last night, so Im feeling good today. I did an old Firm..Max body sculpting or something like it. It was a nice change.
I go to the eye dr today to see about getting contacts. Im soooo tired of wearing glasses.
I cannot beleive I only have 10 weeks to go. Im sooo excited!

Pricilla-how are you??? Did you go to the dr on MOnday?

hi Christine, Allison, Kristine, Dawn

Hi wonderful people

Well, I have so much to talk about today. I didn't post yestarday since it was a crazy day for me. I had 2 dr's appointments and my parents left too.

Update...
I went to the perinatologist and the sonogram guy told Do you know why are U here today?? I told him about the baby's weight and the placenta and he said yeah but the dr also found a white spot in your baby's heart! Say what, I am wondering why didn't they mention that to me!! Anyways, we went ahead and said that it was just a 1mm calcification known as echogenic intracardiac foci that is not a abnormality but a anatomicla variant that does not compromise the baby's heart at all. They just wanted to make sure. The dr said that my quad test showed a 1/4000 risk of having a baby with a cromosomal problem but based on that white spot he changed it to 1/3050. Not significanty at all, so I decided not to have futher testing, specially since no markers where found in the level 2 sonogram. EIF is considered a soft marker but if it not other finding are found and the quad test is negative, the chances of having any problems are almost none

Good news, the placenta moved up and the baby weights 1.2 pounds YEAHHH
We pray a lot and we put him in God's hands. So I'll praise him!

Then I went to my regular DR and she said that she's not concern at all given the fact that my risk was so low.
I put on 8 POUNDS this month, for a total of 22. Way too much, but I'm thankful that mty baby is measuring up!

Wendy, I'm glad that the drs were able to remove most of the cancer. I will keep you in my prayers. I can only imagine how stressful this situation may be. HUGS

Melanie, CONGRATULATIONS!!! I'm super dooper happy for you!! HOOORRAAYYY

I am working now, but I'll read all the post and get back for personals

Priscilla- I am so so happy for you! Hopefully your dr's reassurance has put your mind at ease. I have put this whole pregnancy in God's hands and I think that is what has kept me so calm and grounded. 22 lbs is definitely not too much and probably just what your body needed!

Susan- Oh I don't count the times I get up to pee because I pretty pee in my sleep now. I always fall right back asleep. 10 weeks??? I'm jealous! Well not actually because we still have alot to do! ;)

Pricilla-great news!!! I know you feel better now! 22 lbs is nothing! You are doing great!

Jen-I get back to sleep eventually but sometimes my mind starts turing and I think too much!

Priscilla,

I'm so happy for you and glad the drs are checking and taking all precautions. I'm so glad to know that your dr is not concerned.

And Melanie--wow--twin girls. How sweet!

Hi to everyone else, too.

Well, I literally feel like my baby is holding little sticks and poking me from the inside. People tell me I should start to feel the indentations of little feet and hands but not yet. And I can literally feel tap dancing on my bladder. It's a very bizarre sensation and forget anyone getting any sleep with me running to and from the restroom all night.

Have a great night!
Dawn

Well, I officially wear contacts now!! I also got some new glasses for back-up. I have worn glasses so long that I feel naked without them.

I figured I might need a pair of jeans since Kara is due in Oct. Gap has some on sale for 29.99 regualr 69.99!! I hope they fit well.
I also ordered Kara some pj's from Old Navy. I used these for Haley and just loved them. I got them in 3-6, 6-12 mo size since she'll be wearing gowns for the first month or so..or at least Im thinking that. Thats my plan anyway. I have forgotten everything I did with Haley. I never did like pj's or any clothing with feet...so I love these. The footed things just drive me nuts...not sure why. I like cute socks instead. I LOVE baby feet!
Well, Haley is about ready to put on her fashion show with her new school clothes.
Hope everyone is doing well!

Precilla! I'm so glad you posted & every thing is well. Praise God!!! Whew. Irritating that ob/gyn did not discuss with you.......I'd be having quite the "discussion" with them!!!

The news is slowly sinking in. I was freaking out a little yesterday when someone said something about "matching dresses".:eek: I'm not really girlie-type....and said to DH, "What are we going to do with GIRLS!?!??". It is going to take some adjustment. I was so sure they were boys,......and now I have all these cut boy clothes that I won't be able to use again,.......which makes me feel a tad sad. I"m just a goofball though....and hormonal....LOL

Susan, contacts?!?!? YOu shoulda held off a couple years for bifocals. LOL Just teasing you!!! I don't know how many times the term "advanced maternal age" was used yesterday at my doctor's office. Everytime I felt a little twitch within a this urge within to slap someone upside the head.:eek: Darn hormones!!!!

Hi, all!!

Wendy, hope your dad is doing well with his recovery. Your maternity leave will work out somehow. I hope you have a kind and understanding employer, too -- that will help.

Melanie, congrats on the twin girls!! What fun :)

Priscilla, your range of emotions must have been all over the map with that appointment. Sounds like everything is A-OK. As for your weight, if it makes you feel better, I had one month where I put on 8 or 9 pounds, too (at week 20). :)

Susan, OMG -- you're already thinking about buying post-pregnancy jeans. YOU GO, GIRL! I have no expectations of buying any new clothes for a while LOL But I *am* getting more and more excited to start STS in a few months!!!
