Postpartum: Clean Eating & Exercising Check in Dec 20th

Cathlete
Good morning ladies! Isn't life so nice & busy with wee-ones in the house? I just LOVE it!!!!

We have an appt on Monday for Myranda at the pediatrician's office (2 hr drive). They will do a venous draw & check hemoglobin....we've been working the iron drops into her daily & hopefully she won't need a transfusion. I will pack our suitcases just in case she's admitted to NICU....I've been stuck in the hospital without a bag before...and it's not going to happen again!

Madalynn still hasn't pooped. She doesn't seem uncomfortable, but it's driving DH mad! It's been 8 days!!!! I'm going to shave off a glycerin suppository today & see if we can't get things moving a bit.

I got a nap in yesterday, and slept fairly well last night. It seems like every 3 days or so I get overwhelmed. I wonder what I can do to prevent that?...or at least prepare myself for it?

I'm going to lay low on exercising as I've had some abdominal pain last few days & am still bleeding lightly. I can feel vaginal discharge when let down occurs...so my uterus is still contracting. Hopefully Wednesday I can try again!

What are you wonderful moms doing this week?

Tell me your Christmas plans! STS Cardio will be delivered to me tomorrow!!!! ....it's going to KILL me if I can't at least try one!!:eek::eek:

Hey!
We are back. Trying to get unpacked etc. Kara is asleep on me, so I need to get her in bed. I will be back to chat in the morning! Here is a pic from the wedding and baptism.
I ate to much this weekend!

Morning,
Quick HI to start the day! Kara has been sleeping for over 9 hours! My boobies are huge and killing me!
On another note..my shock cardio has shipped!!!!
Not sure what is on my agenda today. Ill be back to report
Melanie-have a safe trip!! I will be praying Myranda's levels are UP! Keep us posted!

Hi ladies, :)

It made me smile to come on this forum and recognize the names. :)

Morgan is sleeping well at night, and we're letting her cry a bit now to fall asleep. It's a bit heartbreaking but appears to be working. Not complaining.

I just finished meso 2 of STS, which I began about 5 weeks postpartum. Major strength gains but still lots of weight to lose.

Hope everyone has a great holiday.

Dawn

Hi Dawn! So happy to hear from you...although I"ve been keeping tabs on you at facebook. :p Susan, thanks for the prayers!!!

Labs went well...... Myranda's hemoglobin is really low (7.8) but her other labs show that her body is producing more red blood cells. This is residual from the ABO Incapatability that the twins had at birth (basically I have type O blood & they have type A blood....and my body produced antibodies against their blood and passed thru umbilical cord). Myranda should completely recover once all my antibodies are out of her system....hopefully this will occur before she needs a transfusion. Whew....sorry...got a little long winded there!!!

My DVDs didn't come today...misread e-mail....should be 23rd. I've already planned on doing Insanity though. Would like to start that on Wednesday,...if my body permits. I'll be 6 weeks postpartum,...pushing it just 2 weeks early,...I will back off though if my body tells me to.

I did lose another pound, must be fron nursing. :D

Hi all,
I am here, lurking. Some days i am okay and others, not so much. We are trying to digest everything and handle the costs involved with JOhn's diagnosis. I am finally leanring to deal with this and exercise is my savior these days. Will check in later, just wanted you all to know that I am thinking of you.
Mel- I know you are exhausted, keep going, you are doing terrific.
More personals late,r I am burning dinner.

Christine, I was just thinking of you and was going to look you up on Facebook. Glad you have found some time to exercise as a way to regroup. Our prayers and well wishes are with you and little John. Thanks for sharing information.

And to everyone, hope you have a very happy holiday and give lots of hugs. Things get so hectic, it's easy to take people for granted.

Thanks for all the support everyone.

Dawn and Morgan

Morning!
HI Dawn..good to see you.
Christine-you have been in my thoughts. I saw John on facebook..what a cutie!! So glad you are working out!
Melanie-horray for Myranda's levels. My dvd's arent due to arrive until the 29th..wahhh. Oh well..I will have to wait.
I did 40 min of light weights this morning. I plan to hit it harder next week. Haley is going to Nashville to see her best friend all next week..so I will have extra time on my hands to workout.
I ate terribly yesterday!..I mean baaadddd! Will try and do better today!
Mom is coming Thursday..then we take Haley to Memphis to meet up with her friend on Sunday. No major plans other than that.
Ok gotta go get some stuff done before KK wakes up. bbs

Christine, glad to see you....I keep tabs on you on facebook too. I suppose all you people think that I'm a stalker now. LOL I imagine it takes a while to adjust, please join us whenever you feel like it...even to just post your exercises as an inspiration for us!!!

Susan, you sound like you're going to be busy!

Dawn, I love seeing Morgan's pics online. What a cutie!

Jen, Precilla? Getting any sleep nowadays? Allison? How are things going with you?

DH & I go to family practice dr in town today to "establish care". Is this a "date"? LOL

Happy day & waves to all!!!!!!

Its been almost 8 months since I posted on the fitr pregnancy forum. I was wondering if you guys minded if I joined in. I just had my baby about two weeks ago. I still have TONS of weight to lose and need to start cleaning up all my snacking. I have been working out lightly which I know I haven't been cleared yet but it is the one thing that gives me energy to keep up with this lil man and his all nighters.

Welcome erinski & congrats on your little guy!!!

I just got my Cathe package!!! YES!!! I might have to do the TravelFit one.... we'll see. ;)

Hey, ladies! I can't believe Christmas is in 3 days. We got about 20" of snow on Saturday. Melanie, I know that's nothing to you, but we usually get about 25" all winter! And Saturday was still FALL! DH is out Christmas shopping tonight; he kindly took the kids so I could have a break.

I got my Cathe package yesterday. Managed to sneak in (during 3 different workouts, courtesy of Drew not sleeping -- see below!) Step Moves, the dancier step workout. It was fun, but it will take me a few times to really get the footwork LOL

Anyone have a problem sleeper? Any advice would be welcome. I am at the end of my rope. Drew is a horrible sleeper. Out of his whole waking day, he will nap in 15-minute increments, but only about 4 of them all day. He doesn't want to go to bed at night; he screams and cries for hours. So he ends up in bed every night around 10:30/11. I feel like I never get a break, and I'm losing my mind.

Making Confettie Split Pea Soup with turkey kielbasa right now. It's a crockpot recipe, but I want to eat a bowl tonight so I'm doing it on the stovetop.

Trying hard to do better. I kept a food journal last week; realized I've been eating way too many sweets and not enough fruits/veggies.

Hi everyone

I have spent the last two days doing a lot of errand and I haven't been able to workout. I just received Shock Cardio and previewed the cardio core circuit. It seems to be a great workout, but after 8 months of not working out, I'm afraid to even try that one.
I have a question, I have been breast feeding 90% of the time (I may use 2 ounces of formula at night) and I think I have a plugged milk duct in my left nipple. I have a stabbing like pain and I can see a whitish area that I think is where the plug is. Has anyone experienced this before and how do you get rid of it. I'm still able to feed my baby on that side but it's painful

Melanie, have you started Insanity, if not have you previewed the workouts and if so, what do you think about them? BTW, answering your ?, Daniel weighted 7.1 pounds and measured 19 inches. He is keeping me busy at nights but sometimes he sleeps 3-4 hrs in a row, not too bad a a two week old baby...

Christine, I saw your pics on Facebook and both of your guys are adorable!. I love the smile of your oldest son and baby John is just as handsome

Allison, I ended up ordering the food journal from Amazon but haven't gotten it yet. I'm excited to get back on track

Susan, you may get your DVDs earlier, mine arrived earlier than the ETD and I live more to the west than you do

Eriniski, welcome back, which day did you have your baby. I had mine on the 7th

Jen, I read your baby is sleeping a lot better lately, that's is awesomw. i hope mine does the same right on time before I have to go back to work.

Hi everyone else and BBL

Kara in my lap so I can't really type. Just wanted to say HI and Allison...I sooo wish I had advice for you. Haley was the same as Drew. We tried letting her cry etc..and NOTHING helped. I feel for you. I remember how totally exhausted I was. Hang in there!!
HI to everyone...be back in the morning.

PRiscilla- Call your OB, get an antibiotic ASAP. I have had many bouts with mastitis in the past. Here is what has helped: get a big bowl or two of hot water and let your boob sit in there and drain. Push it out in hte shower. Get medication when needed. I had drug resistant mastitis last time around and it was really awful. There is nothing wrong with supplementing. Do what works but treat the problem. I am so sorry, I know that hurts a lot.
Everyone, I will get all my perosnals rolling.
Here is our update. We are starting to funciton better. The terrifying news is getting less scary. I am knee deep in information. His penis healed and so did the umbilical cord, thanks to the infusions. I am suffering a little, and it is hard to let my hubby know. He is trying so hard to help. We have had so many obstacles, this is a bit much. He will be okay, though, just a lot of preventative care. I am feelign okay, real tired. The adrenaline has worn off. My kids never sleep at night, so what is new. It is a miracle to have him, but I need to sleep! I am runnign and doing Cathe. I know that I am not listening to the doctors orders to wait the 6 weeks, but exercise is my drug and it makes me a better mom and wife. I feel pretty good. I think my vagina might hang to my knees, how do people make 18 kids?
I will get back you all. Glad to see some old and new and familiar names.
Happy to have a BIG glass of wine.
Ahhhh.
C

Allison, email me, [email protected]. I have lots of ideas. I do not make sleepers. I do know lots of tricks, though.
are you on the go, does he sleep in the car? I found that my first boy would snooze whenever I vacuumed, and loved when I bounced him swaddled on the large exercise ball. I mean bounce. Pretend you are in a bad porn, TMI, but it works. I also found that getting a straw was helpful, so that I could have a beverage with alcohol while I dealt with him. I am sure you might breastfeed, most popel do. But if on Formula, try the new fussiness formaulas. I am using the Similac Advacne fussiness lactose free formula at night. It helps so much. I also do his bath close to my bedtime, it helps him poop and tires him out. it gets me a few hours in teh early part of the night, so he can party later. I can handle the sleep deprivation if I get a few hours in early. John parties at night, too. I downloaded a season of shows (Glee is my new favorite) and watch it on my iTouch whiel I rock him. If I do nto get to sleep, at least I can laugh. As well, try sleeping him on his tummy. I know it is taboo, but it helps. Even the nurses in teh NICU advised it for us.
Off to bathe him, and me adn jimmy and get laundry rolling, kitchen clean, and dream about doing a workout without hemmorhoisds.
Cheers,
C
