Anybody else doing a lot of weights and not much cardio lately? IDK why, but I'm finding myself reaching for weight lifting dvds and just throwing in cardio maybe 3x per week-maybe two if I take a day off. If you are are you noticing weight gain? Just curious. I have a hard time doing rotations and usually just do whatever I'm in the mood for that day. Last week I tried doing some weights followed by short cardio, but I just can't get in that mindset.

I am the exact opposite. I find myself reaching more for cardio to make-up for my inactivity during the winter months. Also, wearing long sleeves and pants gives me little motivation to do weight training. Regardless, I still try to fit in 1 UB workout and 1 LB workout/week. The rest is 3-4 days of cardio (mixed hi/low). In the summer, I am outside all the time so I up my weight training and do less cardio. This balance has seemed to work well for me. I am not gaining weight, so I must be doing something right.
Have a good day ![]() (BTW, I am not a cardio junkie. If I could, I would do weights 7 days/week, I love weight training that much. But I need my cardio to burn extra calories, or else I will gain weight. That's just my body type)

I too must do more cardio for weight loss for my body type. So now in the winter its more cardio but I agree with "mini" more weight training for summer for those tank tops!

I do all weights, almost no cardio. The more muscle I have the more the weight stays off of me.

I have to do tons of cardio and I wish I could just do weights instead. Sigh. Otherwise, I put on 10 pounds very quickly. However, that said, with Cathe and running I don't mind so much. I often finish a step workout (like I literally just did the original LIC cardio premix.) and I think, "Wow, I forgot how fun that one was!" Before I had improved my cardiovascular conditioning it was more of a chore, but since I discovered rapid breath of fire kundalini yoga breathing technique, I don't have any problems in the cardio department.

I choose weights because it has a higher calorie burn. Whether you are lifting heavy or light w/high reps your heart rate goes up, and you burn more calories after because your body requires them to repair the muscle tears you just created. My heart rate soars high during STS. The heavier the weight, the higher my heart rate.
![]() I do cardio to give my body a rest from weights.

I love weights! If I don't run with my running group it's rare that I get in a full cardio work-out. I'll just aim for a quick 15-20 minute cardio session after I finish weight work.
