I normally wear the Assist XT, since they discontinued the Intensity
 . The Ryka people said the Assist replaced it and is better, but I've had them for 3 pairs now, and while I like them, they're not as good.I got the email from the 2 weeks ago that the Synergy was on sale for $70 and looked, but didn't buy. I liked the pink/black combo! I got it again the other day and they were on sale for $65, with free shipping, so I ordered them. I need new inside workout sneakers and on sale, they're $5 less than the Assist, although I can normally find the Assist for $35 or so, if I spend some time looking. They're supposed to be here Thursday, so I'll try them out on Friday. I've never had a pair of inside Rykas that are uncomfortable, although I like some more than others. I haven't found a better brand for inside work. Step, floor, kickboxing, lifting, etc. I run in Asics. I tried Ryka running shoes - OUCH!!!!!!!!!! Nan

The Intensity was my favorite as well-the Assist is a close second.
I did not like the Synergy at all. I was glad I purchased them from Zappos and could retutn with no problem. There had no support what so ever and made my feet jus plain hurt. Asisc makes a good one as well. I think its the gel intensity. I have been using that for my higher impact work with no problems.

Got my Synergys yesterday. The pink/black ones. They are snazzy!!! I want another pair just to tootle around town in!!! My workout shoes stay in the basement.
Wore them today for Slide and Glide, they are pretty comfy. A little stiff, but I think they just need to be broken in. Also did some regular jacks, jump rope, plie jumps, and a couple of step things just to test them out on higher impact, they feel pretty good. Like a said, maybe just a tad stiff, and maybe just a hair wide in the toe box, but I have thin socks on today. I think I'm going to like them! Nan

I just saw this thread and had just ordered the Ryka Synergy Cross Training Shoe from Amazon for $48.94. Just thought I'd let you know if you want to try them. I have always liked Ryka but switched to the Asics Gel Intensity (really love these). Just decided to try these Ryka's because they look so good - bad reason, I know,,,
