Question to attorney about charactor letter

Hello,

A long time friend of ours ask us if we would write a character letter in behalf of her son asking for leniency to judge for when hs sentence. The letter is to be mailed to his attorney and what I like to know if I should or need to put the case # on the outside for the envelope so that the attorney knows who the letter is referring to? Thanks!

You could put the case number on the envelope. Definitely put it in the letter somewhere. Makes everything so much easier.
