I liked P90X BEFORE doing STS, but not afterI tried to do another round and found it incredibly repetitive, and Tony annoying. I liked Tony a few years ago....I guess his jokes got old.

Hi,

I've done both P90X 1.5 rounds and nearly two rounds of STS. In my opinion STS is much harder and has more variety in number of discs and in focus on muscle groups than P90X. P90X was designed more for more of a general target group so its not as focused or as detailed as STS. Its still a great program to use though. I found that there was not enough cardio or leg workout in it to suit me so I added in some of Cathe's to make it address those issues. The weight work and yoga are great in P90X. I felt that the yoga was way too long and not really as accomodating on modifications shown. That was my take on it but I still like P90X its a great precursor to do before STS or after taking a break after completing STS. Its a good one, but I still prefer Cathe's STS. Hey variety is the spice of life and I know that for myself my mood might change and decide I want to do something other than Cathe. I like having a good variety in types of workouts and I have fave instructors or programs I like so I mix it up and grab whatever sounds good to me at the time. A varied fitness library is sort of like stocking the cupboards and fridge with all clean food, so no matter what you reach for its good for you and I like that, no junk food in my collection. LOL!!

Enjoy your fitness journey takes you!

I had nothing to add, I just thought the last comment was great! Having a variety of workout dvd's in your selection can never be bad

I like p90x but I don't love it. I love ab ripper X. I like the Kenpo ok. His upper body stuff is good because I was never able to do chin-ps or push-ups before him. His lower body sucks. He ain't got nothin on Cathe. After I did a round of p90x (got it for free) was when I decided to buy STS and love it. Got even better results. There is nothing bad about picking and choosing what you like about it and filling in with Cathe.

I've done both P90X and STS. They were done years apart but I enjoyed them equally as much when I did them. P90X is an effective program. There is no doubt about it. Sure you may find out you prefer STS but you need to give a try before you make that call! I agree with the previous poster...variety is the spice of life so give a try! It might surprise you even if only for an occassional change of pace and let's face it...Tony is not hard to look at for an hour a day!

I've done STS 3 times through (not in a row). One time was an undulating rotation. I loved it and still love it! But I felt I needed a little variety and am presently giving P90X a try! First week it took me a little to get used to ,but I really LIKE it! They are hard challenging workouts! And I am a fan of Tony. Of course he's different than Cathe , but that's good too. For a change. I also like that I'm "forced" to do yoga once a week.

I love STS but thought why not get P90X to and mix it up....well I have only a few of the DVD's from P90X. I thought it felt disjointed....just could never get into it. I've thought about selling it or trading it but I keep thinking one day maybe I'll reach for it.

To me STS is just better.
