Hello out there!! I was wondering if anyone has good and simple smoothie recipes? I love to drink them for a snack in the middle of the day. It helps keep me from not snacking on other junk and also it helps get my fruits in. Thanks in advanced!!

Just yesterday I really wanted to make a smoothie and I was wishing I had some good recipes ( I made one with bananas, skim milk, frozen berries, 1/4 t vanilla and a few ice cubes-very good). How neat that I saw this thread on here today. Thanks I-fam for the recipes.

These new recipes sound great!

I drink smoothies all the time. A good hint is to have all your berries and especially your bananas frozen. It makes it so creamy. To freeze bananas, just peel and slice, put on wax paper seperated so they do not stick together. After they are frozed you can put them all together in a bag. I did the same with some strawberries back when they were in season. I bought a ton of them, and have finally run out. So it's back to buying already frozen ones at the store.

This is usually what I have.

banana-enough slices to make one banana
berries-about half a cup
concentrated frozen apple juice-tablespoon
vanilla protien powder-1 scoop
ground flax seed-1-2 tablespoons
milk-8oz.
crushed ice-if needed

Hi Sunnyside!

I'm planning to use vanilla protein powder (1 scoop) and some
ground flax seed in the smoothie recipes I posted above. Thanks for the suggestion.
