Default which UB workout should I get?

Hello everyone!

I am looking to add another UB workout to my collection. I only have dumbbell's (up to 40 lbs).

What are your thoughts on:

PUB
Slow & Heavy
STS total body (I can't invest in the entire STS series right now)
Gym Style
Muscle Max

I think I might benefit more from heavy weight/less reps. I have lots of light weight/more reps workouts and want to change it up.

Feedback is greatly appreciated

Natasha

well.....

I own them all... just got STS Total Body recently..

They are ALL fantastic....

but... if I had to choose .... lol...

I'd go with either Muscle Max (a great traditional weight lifting workout)

or STS Total Body...

for what you are looking for I would say Pyramid, Ms Max or Gym Styles (but you would need to get both Back, Sho, Bis, and Chest & Tris. I really love STS Total body and it really makes my heart pound but it doesn't have a lot of bis and tris in it. I always get to the end and think I still need to do bis & tris...

i don't know if you are considering 4DS or not (or already have it) but I love the UB premix in that one.

I'd agree with the Pyramids, great UB workout and you can go even heavier with the "UP" or "DOWN" pyramid premix! Also PUB uses only dumbells.

I like UB Pyramid and the Double Upper Body premix on Body Max 2.

I also agree with PUB, it's a great workout & is one of my favorites!
My second choice would be Slow & Heavy!

Hi,

I'd have to go with Intensity Series: Pyramid Lower + Pyramid Upperbody. It has three premixes.

1) Pyramid Upperbody- Pyramid Up only= 40 Min
2) Pyramid Down Only= 40 Min
3) Bonus Combo= Pyramid Lowerbody + Upperbody= 54 Min.
The Full regular Pyramid Upperbody with Stability ball abs = 56.5 Min, Pyramid Lower Body regular full version= 49.5 Min.

As far as equipment goes on this you'd need a step bench + 3 or 4 risers each side, stability ball, and assorted dumb bells. This is a killer workout and always gets me good each and every time I use it, its a keeper and worth having in your fitness library.

Another great pick is Cathe's CTX- there is an upperbody split and its awesome too! CTX Upper Body Split= 56 Min and I can't remember if its all db's or bb weights (also there is Leaner Legs which is great offers more options, but no premixes, but does have chapter menu). If you don't have a BB you can substitute db's I did before I got my barbell set.

Now, having said that I'd say Muscle Max is great so is Slow and Heavy and that one has three workouts on it and as I recall its all dumb bells. Truthfully, any of Cathe's weight workouts that feature both just upper body, lower body, or total body are all fantastic and worthwhile investments that you can't go wrong with despite what year they were originally made. Cathe's technique is flawless and her focus always is on form and lifting what weight is appropriate for you.

Ok, Yes I do own all of Cathe's weight workouts and pretty much all of her other stuff including STS and I love them all. I hope this info is helpful.

ps. You also might check out Gymstyles there are two different dvds one focuses on chest and triceps, awesome definitely doms worth, and back and biceps. I have all three of the Gymstyles workout dvds and love them. I noticed that the two upperbody workouts are discounted on the deal of the day, so might check that out.

Hugs!

Nora

Thanks everyone! I was leaning on PUB. It looks like a very effective way to tone.
