Default Tell Me About it...Cardio Core Circuit & Circuit Blast

Today on the Cathe calendar, that's what's on the bottom, Cardio Core Circuit & Circuit Blast. I really haven't looked too much at the Shock Cardio Series, have been working hard at a few others...

So tell me about them....can you compare to other Cathe videos, premixes, how you use them. I really like circuit workouts.

TIA
Linda

Cardio Core Circuit is THE HARDEST CARDIO WORK OUT Cathe has IMO!!!! It's set up in cycles of 3 intense cardio moves (all done on the floor) done 2x thru followed by a tough core/ab move. I think there are seven cycles?? Premixes are cardio only and express circuit which is same as reg w/o but cardio moves done only 1x thru instead of 2x. It KILLS me!

CCC is a very hard cardio workout. There are core exercises between each circuit, which I think give you some time to recover from the cardio. So if you want the workout even harder you can do the one premix that eliminates the core moves....and it's only about 40 minutes long.

Circuit Blast, to me, is a fun 44 minute workout. I haven't done that one in a while, but it's not extremely hard...but I think the moves are hard, she just doesn't seem to do them for that long. I think it's 6 circuits with 4 moves in each if I remember correctly. It's fun though and it goes fast...so I like that I have the option to play this one when I don't have a lot time but want a nice sweat on. I guess it's sort of like Bootcamp, but not as hard...I hope this helps!!

Yikes! Sounds uh, really scarey, always can count on you for the lowdown, Wendy........I might have to work up to that.

Thanks Jen, maybe Circuit Blast first before Cardio Core Circuit, as always, appreciate the feedback! I'll have to look at Bootcamp again too.

just did Circuit Blast today...I think it is fun & goes by super fast. definitely will make you sweat but I like the variety & the fast pace. any workout with a bunch of drills in it is for me!
CCC is a goodie too and I agree is harder than CB, but again it's great variety & goes by quickly. have fun!

This is good to know, I want to get at least half of the shock cardio series and definitely wanted to get HIIT and Athletic Step. I'm a little on the fence about CCC and Cardio Blast, I know I don't have the confidence to jump on a step with 4 riser each step. I'm afraid I won't bring my legs up high enough so would definitely have to modify a couple of things.

I'll look at the clips again and see how much I think I can do. Thanks 112toguru and thanks to everyone else for the reviews

Hi,

Not Cathe here. I have all the STS Shock Cardio dvds and I can say that the first time I viewed Circuit Blast I though OMG! No way can I do it with all those risers I know I'd hurt myself. Cathe addressed those sorts of comments stating that we could use fewer riser just whatever we were comfortable. I seem to recall Cathe saying that in the rehersal for Circuit Blast they started off with fewer riser then gradually built up to four on each side. I myself the first time was a little leary of all those risers and did it on two risers each side and quickly moved to three each side. I just last week did Circuit Blast and used four risers on each side no problem. I'd recommend starting with two risers if thats ok for you, only you know the answer to that and change from their as indicated and you feel comfortable doing safely. Always be safe!

I hope that helps! CCC is the hardest and I think it feels very much like a HiiT workout but only needs a mat as a visual aide and for core work, great workout very challenging and very travel friendly. Good luck and have fun with whatever you decide.

Hugs!

Nora

OMG! if I had a nickel for every time I've said that watchin' a Cathe video! Thanks so much I had a feeling that series & that one in particular had some surprises...right about the risers, I think maybe I'll go back to Drill Max & work that one. I really was trying to get a fix on what they're like....I'm always amazed at how you gals get right in there & get 'em done...it's inspiring...and motivating...

Thanks again for the reviews!
