Ok everyone, I am about to reach a Cathe milestone today. I will be trying Imax3 for THE FIRST TIME. The download was this weeks special @ 8.98, so I figured, hey what the hell, what better time to get my butt kicked than during the holidays?
Wish me luck, in about 3 min, I am going to start that sucker and hopefully do it without passing out. Update to follow. MY UPDATE APPROX. 1Hr AFTER: Ok, so that was pretty intense. I started out with no risers, mainly because I am bad at complex step choreo and afraid of falling/getting injured or twisting my ankle. I was surprised that the choreo was not too difficult, some tricky parts, but nothing practice won't fix. The blasts were TOUGH. I found some harder than others but I was very proud that I could keep up and not stop for breaks. I think the HIIT's and Intensity conditioned me for the blasts. I did not feel drained or exhausted and my legs are not fatigued. I would rate this one: intensity 10/10 fun factor 7/10 calorie burn 10++ step choreo 8/10 music 9/10 To be honest, this one was not my favorite Cathe workout. I would much rather do Intensity for 1hr than this, only because I love the step/hiit/bootcamp combined. All in all, I am very happy I added Imax3 to my collection. Two thumbs up!!!

Congrats on IMAX 3! I will be doing this workout sometime next week unless I break into another instructor workouts for a break. I am figuring out my sequence for this series.
IMAX 2 is not easier but smoother plus the recovery times are more even. |

Way to go, mini-natty! You were definitely well conditioned if you've been doing the HiiT and Intensity programs. I've found that for me the step segments of IMAX3 are sort of a recovery from the blasts. The impact from some of those blasts is too much for my knees, so I have to make modifications or use an ice pack afterwards. IMAX3 can be intimidating, so you should pat yourself on the back and feel very proud for tackling it and doing so well.

Well done Natasha! Imax3 is one of the hardest... when I can do all of that pausing just for a quick sip of water ( I do drink alot while working out at high intensity) that means I'm in really good shape, and when I'm done I feel I can do anything in the world!

So glad you tried it and liked it! Imax3 is actually my favorite cardio workout from Cathe. (I am not sure if it is because it was the 1st Cathe video I did and realized I really really liked her as an instructor).
I do Imax3 at least once a week. I have to be careful since I sometimes find that I do it 2 or 3 times per week and I try hard to do something different every day rather than reach for the same videos. I know many others prefer Imax2 (I also enjoy that workout), but I feel much more accomplished (and sweaty) after completing #3. I hope there is an Imax 4 soon..... |

Congrats! That is certainly a toughie. I agree that Intensity is tougher, but this one always gets me too.
