Do any of you utilize the MET value that Cathe has in the workout manager for your workouts? I was going through and trying to calculate the approximate calories I burn for various workouts using these values. I was shocked to see that CCC and Intensity only had a MET value of 7, while Afterburn was 8.5. Whats the deal? Afterburn is one of my favorite workouts, and its very hard, but I think CCC is probably the hardest of them all.

Sometimes I look at the given MET values if I am trying to sub or compare two workouts. I think the MET value is a guideline -and my performance in a workout will impact its actual met value and of course cal burn.
Maybe the reason AB has the higher MET is b/c of the types of exercises? They are more "metabolic" b/c they are compound and also the Hiit factor in AB. I've just asked about metabolic recently so I'm not speaking with great certainty. What do you think? |
