Thumbs up Hiit 30/30: the easiest Hiit, but definitly not easy!!

Today was my first time with 30/30. I have downloads of pyramid & 40/20, rotating them 1X/week for about 6 months now. I just added 30/30 to my collection because I wanted an "easier" hiit, when I felt like doing one. Ha, ha, ok, nope this little sucker is not easy!! After 30min of that, I thought I could tack on another 30min of moderate cardio. That never happened. My legs "gave in" after 15min.

For all those that do 30/30, I salute you. This is one tough cookie!

In my opinion, Pyramid is the easiest of the 3 HIITs even though Cathe and the girls say that 30/30 is. Pyramid is certainly not easy, but it's not as tough as 30/30 and 40/20 to me. When I do another cardio with 30/30 (usually intervals 1-5 or 6-10 of Imax 2 or Imax 3), I do the other cardio first because I know that I'm gonna be spent after 30/30 and not feel like doing anything else.

I agree. That one definitely feels the easiest of the three. I think it is because there is no step involved.

Come to think of it, ya I think pyramid IS easier. I just thought 30/30 was hard because I had never done it before. I was actually thinking that while I was doing all those air jacks

Great idea about doing cardio before Hiit. I am going to try that next time

I agree that 30/30 intervals are hard, but I just don't feel like it is "enough" so I add the intervals from Drill Max as my part two of the workout.

That way I get the true HIIT done first so my heart rate is up there for the Drill Max drills which are longer and more steady state cardio.

These are the things that I love about Cathe's workouts, you can totally mix and match to your heart's content (and benefit )

agree completely...and I also love adding the Drill Max cardio premix to a HIIT. i think another reason 30/30 may seem tough is that there are no "one minute rests" like in 40/20
