Whoa, I totally missed the boat on ordering this workout sooner. Hands down, my favorite workout from Cathe! Right up there with Muscle Max, which is another workout that is always in the rotation. Just wanted to give this a shout out for anyone that held off ordering this one. Awesome muscle burn with a huge fun factor! The music rocks too!.

If you like High Step Challenge, you'll like MM. It's similar to HSC but doesn't have cardio and uses heavier weights. These two workouts really compliment each other. For some reason, there is no boredom factor with this one.

Mini-natty,
The reps are high, like Muscle Endurance, but I didn't find the weight selection light. It is very similar to ME but for some reason HR gives a better muscle burn. I guess the biggest surprise is I didn't see rave reviews when this first came out, so I didn't jump to order. Pleasantly this seems more like the older style workout format that made me a Cathe fan. Your question on weight #'s, I grabbed mostly 12's and 15's and lightened up on the shoulder work. For the leg work I used a 20's and a 40lb barbell. |

High Reps is my favorite weight workout by Cathe. MM is second. Love them both. Of course, I also like Muscle Endurance and Power Hour. . . But High Reps is my favorite.

Jane- I just want to add that I agree about Muscle Max ! It really is a GREAT workout. (I did that workout 2x every week for 3 YEARS before I got bored with it ! At that point I discovered cathe.com and for the last 3 or 4 years I've grown to love MANY more Cathe workouts too !) The 2 upper body premixes at 42 min and 33 min are great for days when you don't have enough time. The ab section is, I think, Cathe's best and very varied. She breaks the push-ups into two separate sets (unlike GS), and for me it makes them doable. The whole work-out moves at a good pace, and I always feel like there is no wasted time, but I'm not rushed. It has a great warm-up and stretch too. I still do MM several times a month. I love it !
I wanted to get my 2 cents in about MM, and I hope it helps. I have read so many helpful posts on this forum for years, and have never posted until now. Thank you, ladies for all your helpful information !! |

High Reps is definitely one of my absolute favorites...I can do this one over and over and not dread it.
I love it in the beginning leg weight routine near the end when Cathe asks if we are saying, "when is this going to be over?" Just the intonation and way she says it is so timed right and because that is generally what I am saying right at that time and the way I am saying it! for Jayne Royse: I also am a Muscle Max fan. It is very worth it. No boredom factor either. But then, I am a huge advocate of total body weight workouts by Cathe. As we age, we just need these and Cathe really is the best out there for these...and the more you have of this genre...the less likely to tire of them and quit!
