Help I would like to get some new dvd

Default Help I would like to get some new dvd

Hi
My sister gave me these Kick Max, Power Hour+, Pyramid lower + upper body, Kick, Punch & Crunch & Legs and Glutes, 4 Day Split Cardio Weights. Some of these are hard.

Are these ok to start with and add to what I have. Or are they Like what I have this is all new to me so many tape to look at. Lost 48 pounds try to tone up & get more cardio in.
Basic Step + Body Fusion DVD
Low Impact Circuit DVD
Intensity Series: I max 2 + Cardio & Weights DVD
Hardcore Series: Stretch Max DVD
Butts and Guts DVD

Hi Heather2003! Congratulations on your weight loss!!

I'll take a stab at your question It looks to me like you have a very, well-rounded selection of Cathe workouts! I really don't believe you need to add anything to your collection at this time. Kick, Punch, Crunch is great workout to start with. I say that because it's the one I started with Seriously though, it will help you increase your endurance and you'll have fun doing it. I think I barely made it through the first 20 minutes of it when I started.

You have a really nice collection of step workouts. I would definitely start with, or at least give it a run-through, Basic Step. I'm not sure how familiar you are with step aerobics in general, so starting with Basic Step will give you a foundation to build on. As a step up (get it!?) I would go to Imax 2 next. This is a very challenging step workout endurance-wise but it is relatively easy to learn. So is Low Impact Circuit. The step routines in 4D's are a little more complicated, but fun once they are learned. Cardio & Weights' step routine is very, very fun but it is a little more complicated to learn (at least for me it was). However, Cathe does repeat each combo 6 times so there's lots of time to practice.

You also have a really good variety of strength workouts. I started with the Pyramids and they are still a favorite of mine. I think the first time I did Pyramid Upper Body I only have 3, 5, 8, 10, & 12lb weights. Power Hour is a very fun, good total body workout. Butts & Guts is awesome! Legs and Glutes is a great workout too--lots of leg presses though The 4D's weights segments use heavier weights and that is good because it adds variety to your strength training.

I think you have a great collection to get started with and unless you see something that you HAVE TO HAVE, I don't think you need to purchase anything else right now. The only thing you might want to consider is the HiiT dvd in the Shock Cardio series. That will blast away some fat in a short amount of time for sure!

Even if you can only do 15, 10, 30 minutes of any of the workouts, it's okay!! We all started at the beginning! Cathe workouts are hard and that's what I love about them.

I started with Basic Step as a way to learn step. It is a really short (:30) step routine that basically teaches newbies Cathe's lingo and basic step moves. I actually must have a bootleg copy because mine does not include Body Fusion so I cannot comment on that. I would say if you already know how to step, Basic Step will be, well, basic!

I have only done the Cardio Blast Timesaver premix from Low Impact Circuit. I honestly can't remember whether I liked it but I am sure I did.

I like Imax 2. It is not like any of the DVDs you already have. This is purely cardio on the step and it is a great cardio workout in my opinion. I can burn mucho calories doing this and Imax 3 which is also great (even Low Max burns alot of calories for me over other cardio workouts). I haven't done Cardio & Weights from the Intensity Series so I can't comment on that one.

Stretch Max is awesome! It is almost a gift from heaven on days when I am so tight I think I could snap! There are 3 different segments on this and while they are all great, the one with the resistance band one is my favorite!

Butts & Guts is HARD! Whether doing the entire thing or just a premix, it will get in there good. I do love it though! You get weight training plus a cardio effect with this (though it is not intended to be cardio specific).

Given your goals of toning up and adding more cardio, I would go with Imax 2 and Butts & Guts. Oh .... And get Stretch Max to help your hard worked muscles!

I recently did Cathe's January 2009 rotation:

It uses alot of the same videos you have listed but for the ones you don't have you can substitute what you do have. For example, the first workout is Body Max 2 which is not on your list but Body Max is (or should be) included in the Power Hour+ DVD. When the rotation calls for Core Max, you can substitute just the ab work from one of your DVDs like the Stability Ball Bonus Abs from Butts & Guts. Same goes for the Gym Style or Pure Strength DVDs. Just use your Pyramid DVDs or the portions from 4 Day Split that best match up to that day's rotation description.

If you need more ideas, let me know. I am not an expert at creating rotations (I just use them ) but I would be willing to help out if I can.
