Hi all,
I hope someone can help me or give some insight. I find that when I work out, my calorie burn differs massively based upon cardio or weights. For example, I have just started STS and today I did disc 2; 45 calories burned. Yesterday IMAX 3; 400 calories burned. Does anyone else have these radically different burns? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I use a Polar s210 monitor. Thanks! |

Yes. Cardio always burns more calories for me than weightlifting. But building your muscles with weightlifting increases your metabolism to burn more calories throughout the day. I don't wear my heart rate monitor much now, but when I did I found I burned an average of about 600 for cardio and 250 for weightlifting.

Im the same way. Cardio, especially interval or HiiT, yields a huge calorie burn. But with weightlifting, its almost nothing during the workout. But, the burn does continue longer after the workout.
