Weight in shrugs?

Hi, Cathe. I've been working out with you for a long time, this is my first question. In your Pure Strength series, you recommend going light in shrugs to avoid overdevelopment of the trapeziius. But in your CTX series, I notice you go heavy doing the same exercise. I'm just wondering why, I certainly wouldn't want to have a thick neck? By the way, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your strength training work in all your tapes, they have really changed the way I look!
 
Hi Firmbogie! I vary my weights and exercise techniques often. I believe in CTX I went a bit heavier and had a slight forward lean on the shrug to give the exercise a new feeling. If you feel that doing this is bringing too much thickness to your trap area, then continue using a slightly lighter weight for this exercise. Keep up the great work!
