Tendon Strain?

For about 5 months I have been having some muscle or tendon pain at the top of my hamstring. It is in the back and feels like it is a tendon that connects my muscle to my leg or pelvis. At times it burns more towards the front (when I am sitting) like it is a groin strain, but mostly it is more towards the inner thigh but towards the back, and feels tight and hurts when I sit for a long time and when I do certain movements, mostly dead lifts. I have tried resting it, and stretching it and it is still there. I am not sure what is the best thing to do for it to heal. I have never had this type of injury before. Any suggestions?
