cathe im trying to make my own full body rountine at home how long do i warm up and do i stretch right after the warm up i know to stretch after the workout is complete . i dont want to hurt myself by doing things incorrectly thanks mary
 
Good for you Mary :) Your warm ups should be about 7 minutes (but much depends on the type of workout. For instance I like 12 minute warm ups for kickboxing) and they should include large dynamic movements to increase blood flow. After the active warm up, begin your stretches. They do not need to be long held stretches (save those for after your workout) but they should be held for about an 8 count and hit all the major muscles, most especially those that will be used in your workout.
