Rest day/active recovery day...

Hiya Cathe, I was wondering if you could help me...
I have been told COUNTLESS times that a rest day/active recovery day, is a vital component to a rotation. However, I workout 7 days a week (usually 90 minutes, give or take quarter of an hour), and I don't feel at all fatigued. I don't feel like my body is tired, and I feel very healthy. If I don't exercise one day, i feel unfulfilled, and I actually feel WORSE than if i do exercise. I have tried a lighter workout, but i don't get the same buzz from it. Is a rest day VITALLY important to a regime? I am only 17, and don't want to do myself damage.
I am not trying to lose wieght, just trying to build strength and stamina.

Just thought i'd add, I have fallen in love with butts and guts (blimey that's a strange sentence) :)
