Questions for Cathe

Dear Cathe

I love your show. Your exercise routines are very simple yet very effective. I have a few questions about dropping weight and turning fat to muscle.

1) I weigh about 180 and I am 5'9". I would ideally like to get down to 165 or possibly 160. I want to be slim but very well toned. Is it better to try to turn the extra weight to muscle (muscle weighs more than fat though) and then slim down or slim down first (maybe to 155 or so) and then add the weight back on as muscle?

2) What is the average optimum distance for running sprints that would be most effective for burning off weight? I have tried it by distance (30 yards) and by time (45 seconds). Both have their strong points, but I sometimes feel it is not helping me take off weight at all. Also do you have any remedies for shin splints?

3) This is kind of a personal question. I love your smile I was wondering if you are ticklish at all? : )
