Hi Cathe (or anyone else who can help),
I'm moving to a new house very soon, and I'm planning to convert the garage into a gym. I have a lot of weightlifting equipment, including a squat rack and lots of weight plates, so I need a floor that can support the weight of my equipment as well as provide enough cushioning, resilience, etc., to make high-impact workouts safe.
I am leaning towards installing thick rubber flooring, like the kind you find in the weightlifting areas of commercial gyms. It'll be installed directly over concrete. Do you think this will provide enough cushioning to make it safe to do high-impact workouts? If not, do you have any other suggestions?
Thanks!
Tonya
