Plie Squat Question

In the plie squats in Legs & Shoulders, I have been holding a pair of 20 or 25 pound dumbbells on my shoulders instead of holding a single huge dumbbell with both hands. Is this wrong? Will that reduce the effectiveness of the exercise? And Cathe,if you see this, the new tapes are SPECTACULAR!! Two thumbs up, a premier butt-kicking! Thanks to any who can help me!!
 
Hi KZN! Glad you are enjoying the workouts. Comfort always comes first. If you do not feel comfortable doing the option that is shown, then definitely substitute to make it work for you. I chose to put the 40 in one hand and down the center to increase the stretch of the inner thigh muscles and to keep the resistance of the weight concentrated around the inner thigh area. Your shoulder position will still be effective if you select to use it.
