Hi Cathe,
When I did STS Disc 1 chest, shoulders and bi's I noticed I had some muscle soreness in my latissimus dorsi, higher up, on the outer edge of the back, close to the armpit. It's not an injury or anything, simply muscle tenderness from lifting. I've noticed this tenderness after other heavy weight chest/shoulder workouts too. I am not new to STS, heavy lifting, or your DVDs. Should I be feeling such soreness in a back muscle when performing chest and shoulder exercises? Am I using incorrect form on a chest fly, shoulder press, etc., that would result in the use of my back muscles? Not that I'm complaining about using my back muscles, I just want to make sure I'm using the correct muscle during specific exercises/workouts. I would be greatly appreciative if you could give me your feedback. Thanks so very much. Amanda |

I bet it was from all of the pushups!! I felt like I had been in a car accident after starting STS!

I agree - it's all the pushups! Which actually answers my own wondering as to why my mid-back is a touch achey lately (I just started STS last week and have been mixing it with the new LIS series).
