alternative dumbell placement

Cathe,
First I love your videos.However, I need some help. Due to Head and Neck Cancer+ stroke, I have some physical limitations i.e. Very difficult to keep barbell behind head. Are there alternative moves for placement? By the way,I am in my fifties. Due to your videos everyone thinks I am about ten years younger. Thanks Cathe.
 
I'm not Cathe but I recommend using dumbbells. You can get the same effect for exercises such as lunges, squats, and leg presses using a dumbbell in each hand as opposed to a barbell resting on your shoulders. You can also do leg exercises without weights. The weights add more resistance but using good form and your own body weights creates a significant challenge for a lot of people. Good luck!
