Next version of Workout Blender????

Any idea when the next version of the WB will be released? I'm in no man's land right now with an iMac and OSX 10.5.8, and can't use the WB on it (i've posted here in the past, and your support team says it's a no-go because of a particular glitch). I'm dying to use the Workout Blender and make some of my own workouts. Please let us know when the new version will be available, even if it's a guesstimate.

Software development really isn't conducive to making predictions of when future versions will be released. Currently, we're having a University professor who is an expert in new media study and determine if there is a way for us to join video files of different resolutions without re-encoding. This would greatly speed up the making of premixes and is how we want the WB in final form to work. Before we release the next version we want to see what his research discovers. Also, the WB consists of applications that we have written as well as applications like ffmpeg that others have written. Many of the things we need and want to do depend on updates to these other components that we have no control over. Thus, it's just not possible to give release date predictions until we're ready to release. But we will certainly let everyone know when we do.

Bummer. Okay, then let me ask you this: will I run into the same problem using the current version of Workout Blender if, instead of my iMac, I use my MacBook Pro? It's got the Intel chip, and is running OSX 10.5.8.

Hello Annie,

If you install the Workout Blender on your MacBook Pro you should be fine. The problem with the 64 bit processor is only on the first generation iMac. We have tested the WB on three different MacBook Pros of different vintages and all have worked fine, so please feel free to do that and let us know how you make out.
