I get mine sometimes from my local food co-op that is nitrite (or is it nitrate?) free. I'm not sure which brand they use though. Do you have a food co-op, Whole Foods or Trader Joe's you could check out?

Believe it or not, Hormel makes a nitrate free ham and turkey. It is in the prepackaged section of the grocery store. Near the bacon and hotdogs at my local Hannaford. It is in a paper bag colored box with red writing.

Default Costco

Costco has a great one.. I forget the brand right now and I'm at work but they have ham and turkey and a lower sodium turkey that is the lowest I've ever seen. It is great and I don't usually like lunch meat at all. It's nitrate free, and no msg!

The meat "Gratefuldog" is talking about is Hormel Natural Choice. They have all kinds of varieties of turkey and ham. The price varies widely. At Albertson's it is typically $4.99 a package, but at Walmart it is 2 packages for $5.00! Shop around. It's the only kind of deli meat I eat.

Just be careful, sometimes they say 'nitrate free' but in the fine print they use 'celery' which has 'naturally occurring nitrates' and for me it was still a problem and caused migraines. That was a bummer because I love me a hot dog or some ham
