Default Too much sodium

I had 4 cups of broccoli today and got an F for too much sodium and a D for too much folate. Just thought that was funny...who would think broccoli had so much sodium in it?

I don't think broccoli does have that much sodium in it. If you choose the raw broccoli, 8 oz has about 60 mg sodium. If you choose broccoli cooked from fresh for the 8 oz, there is about 600 mg. The only thing I can think is that salt is added during cooking or there's a lot of salt in the water.

I choose the raw version and steam my veggies.

I'm using fresh broccoli. Maybe something is wrong with the sodium entered in the system. Anyway it always puts me from an A to an F. 4 cups is a lot though.

If you click on the Sodium grade, you'll get a list of all your foods for the day ranked by how much sodium is in each food. Gives you a good idea where your sodium intake is coming from.

broccoli isn't high in sodium. it's gotta be from everything else you are eating and this is just putting you over the edge.
