Recipe taken from Sara Snow's website:
This recipe was inspired from a diet recipe for breakfast bars. I took that recipe and turned it upside down, added fiber, protein, antioxidants and lots of healthy goodness. These are incredibly easy to make and keep on hand for grab-and-go mornings.

INGREDIENTS
2 ½ cups old fashioned organic quick oats (I didn't use organic)
½ cup whole flax seed
¼ cup organic dark cocoa power (or slightly less) (I didn't use organic)
½ cup natural peanut butter
½ cup honey
½ t spirulina (I found it at my local health store)
½ - 1 cup HOT water
INSTRUCTIONS
Stir ingredients together.
Form into individual sized paddies, like hamburgers.
Wrap in plastic wrap and keep in freezer or fridge.

I've made 2 batches now and love them! Also, read up on spirulina...so many benefits!

OH. My. Word.
I just made these.
I'm eating some right now. Right outta the bowl.
Would it be bad if I just finished off the whole blasted thing?

Muy delicioso!!!!

could you use flax seed meal instead of whole seeds? (that is just what i have). also, any idea of a sub for the honey? thanks!

I suppose you could use the flax seed meal...you probably would have to use less water. As for a honey sub use agave nectar.

They are sooo good...I could eat a few a day! My whole family loves them. Sara Snow has another recipe...it's a smoothie. Its yummy too!

Hope this helps.

Where did you all get the Spirulina ? I've been to GNC, and a local health food grocery store. Both had it in pill form but didn't have anything that could be used in a recipe. At GNC the guy didn't even know what I was talking about !!!
Any idea's ??
Thanks,
Becky
