Default STS-altern. excercise for sliding plate lunges?

When doing the excercises that use the sliding plates, is there anything else I can do that will give me the same result? I workout in my basement and I just have the concrete floor and a plate will not slide on there. I looked into the "slide board" but that was really expensive!

There is some good inexpensive flooring that I use, and the plates slide great, it's by the brand CAP, here's a link to it on kmart's site, very good price on here. Completely worth having it, and not just for the plates, so much more comfortable jumping around on these during HIIT workouts, I can do pushups and roll around exercises and stretching without needing an individual mat. Good thing cause every time I pull out my mat, my cats decide I pulled it our for them to sleep on

Oh yeah, I also like that I can safely drop my weights without worrying about cracking the foundation in the basement.
