Question about pear shapes

I've always heard that pear shaped people should use light weights since they already have big legs, Is that true or should I use the heavy weights suggested in STS?
 
You really just have to experiment for yourself. But I'm pear and I get my leanest when I go heavier with my weights. If you got STS I would just follow the program through. You'll find out how your body responds and when you do another cycle you'll know.

I'm not Cathe or an expert but thats just my thoughts.
